Getting Ready Part III (the guys)

Getting Ready Part I
Getting Ready Part II

While I was getting ready with my mother and mother-in-law at the Aveda Salon in Burlington, Mr. Onion was with his father, brother and best friend (his groomsmen) at The Men’s Room getting a shave and enjoying some time together, just the guys. I was so glad our photographer’s husband Andy went with the guys so I could feel like I didn’t miss anything! It was important to me that Mr. Onion got some pampering that morning too so he felt taken care of and special.

Mr. Onion enjoying a face massage after a hot towel. It looks like such a peaceful way to begin his day.

Mr. Onion gets a little trim so he looks his best

A little styling while the guys look on

Mr. Onion’s best friend got a shave too and Mr. Onion and his brother looked on. Andy was standing on the counter to get this photo from above — the Bishops will stop at nothing for a great photo!

A few quick photos before they leave The Men’s Room. Mr. Onion gets his genuine happiness and sense of joy in life from his father, and you can see that on both their faces in this picture (his father far left and Mr. Onion far right).

I got to get my nails, hair and make-up done with the girls — I think all grooms should get a little relaxing guy time too! I know this was a great thing for them to do together before the day started rolling.

More to come…

I think that’s great that your photographer’s husband went over there to take photos of Mr. Onion. We didn’t have any photos of that and I didn’t even think to ask our Bestman’s gf who was there with them. I asked Wes to go there so I can’t wait to see that footage because I just want to know what happened. :)

thanks mrs. snow pea! i’m glad we have these images — there are a few of him getting ready in his room with the guys too — those are coming. it was fun to feel like i was there even though i wasn’t.

i had wes with them too (as i was running late from lunch after the hair/make-up appointment so he had to film something)! it was great to see it. i’m sure you’ll be pleased to see his smile, excitement etc.

Yeah I feel like I had a total “control freak panic attack” not knowing what he was doing the night before since we spent it in separate hotels. Then I just wanted to know how he was holding up the morning of the wedding. Usually I am the one who manages everything and “shield” him from things so I was worried. I can’t wait to see the film.

[…] Mrs. Onion’s post last week reminded me of a conversation that I had with Mr. Peacock and his sisters at Christmas. I think the conversation started with me talking about how I didn’t know how to make my manicures last longer than a few days. After recommending that I add a coat of clear polish each day after the manicure, one of Mr. Peacock’s sisters advised that Mr. Peacock get a manicure before the wedding. She mentioned that there were several close-ups of their hands (with their new rings) in her wedding album and that you would notice jagged cuticles. […]
