Mr. Caterpillar and I are off to Austin for the wedding of Mr. Caterpillar’s darling cousin, the fabulous Eugenie. Fabulous Eugenie is marrying a Texan named Starr(!) in a nighttime, fancy dress, 500 guest extravaganza.What does one wear to a nighttime, fancy dress, 500 guest extravaganza in Texas? Feathers.
Yes, feathers. Always appropriate. Just to be the on the safe side, I got mine in all black.

i am from Texas and I’ve never been to a wedding where a guest wears feathers. Cute dress though. You have to do that pose too you crazy New Yorkers. -)

i love this dress! i wish they made dresses such as these in plus sizes. i would definitely be the big girl in feathers at the next big bash!

I live in Austin, and let me tell you, this is one of the few places in the country where I think you could pull a dress like that off. It’s an anything goes city - where you see people in jeans and t-shirts at 4 star restaurants. As long as you feel good in it, that’s what’s most important. I think it’s fabulous. Have a blast and be sure to eat lots of bbq. Let me know if you need ideas for anything to do while you’re here (if you even have time!).
