About Me: I am a passionate designer who loves anything pretty. I heart all paper products (eco-friendly of course). My passion revolves around anything considered glamour; vintage and modern. In my free time, I love reading Martha mags, designing jewelry and making a pit-stop at Starbucks for a chai latte. I'm also a chocoholic at heart and my family drools over my homemade truffles.
We all know or have heard of the famous “Today Show Throws a Martha Stewart Wedding” contest. On October 5, 2007, Cody Helgeson, 22, and Jessica Mapel, 23, winners of the contest, wed before millions of TV viewers in a lavish event planned by the Today Show, Martha Stewart, and a team of Martha Stewart Weddings’ editors.
I’m completely in love with the whole event, the details, the colors… simply everything, so I thought I would highlight the oh-so fabulous wedding featured in this winter’s Martha Stewart Weddings magazine.

We need to have control of the music. That was decided from the beginning. I have just heard too many stories from couples who made detailed lists, provided songs, and then heard none or little of what they wanted. Add to that the fact that a great many of our dates were to concerts and shows, and we needed to rock the iPod wedding. So a friend of Mr. Robin will provide ceremony music with her guitar, and then when the reception rolls around we will have an iPod full of all the songs we love.
However, we have an issue… What song are we going to dance to for the first dance?! We have it down to two, which you can listen to thanks to YouTube:
First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes - this is a really sweet video.

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Pharmacist
Engagement Date: May 2007
Wedding Date: August 2008
Blogging Since: December 6, 2007
Venue: Victorian Mansion
About Me: Despite the fact that I’ve invested many long years of my life studying the sciences in college, I’m glad to be out of there and I would never do it again! I’m super artsy at heart - I run an indie craft site, I grew up shooting and developing my own film, doing jazz and ballet, and the whole gamut of art classes. I’ve been called a Jane of all Trades… but I was also told many years ago not to make my passion my career because it’d suck the fun out of it. Hence my choice of day job. We live in Seattle but are having our wedding in Canada to be fair to all our family and friends.
Now that Christmas is finally over and my FSIL (omg I’m using an abbv. that up until a few weeks ago I had no clue what it meant) got her gift, I can post about letterpress on weddingbee. I spent one weekend this december at a craft fair next to a lovely gal selling these beautiful letterpressed calendars by ilee. I came home with two and Mr. Milkshake was so impressed with them that the two thousand some odd dollars I had estimated for letterpressed invitations was suddenly okay with him.

Blogging Since: December 7, 2007

About Me: Mr. Cupcake and I hit it off at a Halloween party and immediately began a long-distance relationship. After two years, he moved to my neck of the woods, and a year and a half after that, he proposed at the “place we fell in love.” I am a true perfectionist who enjoys designing and creating more work for myself, so wedding planning is my perfect outlet. Mr. Cupcake and I are both old souls, and we hope to weave that aspect of our personalities into our wedding day.
I’ve already rambled on and on about how much we love our photographers, The Wiebners... so for the sake of not killing you all with suspense, I’ll get right down to business and show you our fabulous engagement photos!

This year, 47 past and present weddingbees participated in a Secret Santa exchange! Confession: I’m actually sending out my Secret Santa gift tomorrow! But it was a ginormous diy project, so hopefully my Secret Santa will forgive me when she sees what it is.
With a budget of only $20, here’s a peek at some of the wonderfully creative gifts the bees sent!

I arrived on Friday, but Monday was my wedding day on the town! My first stop was at Tinsel Trading in midtown. There were a million, billion sources of inspiration in there. It reminded me of Anthropologie in that I wanted to just move in.
I also wandered over to the Store Across the Street, which is owned by Tinsel Trading and is… across the street. The walls were covered with spools of ribbon. There was a selection of Martha’s craft line, which I have really been enjoying. I think Michaels has a better selection, but I am guessing that there aren’t any Michaels in Manhattan. They had the newest copy of Martha Stewart Weddings on the cutting table, but I forced myself to leave it alone since my copy was waiting at home for me.

About Me: I am the 2nd of 5 girls. Yes, you read that right, 5 girls. I don't know if there's anything interesting about my wedding that I can tell you but I was proposed to twice.
I was going through my stack of old bridal shower and wedding invites. Before I chucked them I took a few photos for inspiration.
1. Jane, who designed my invites, also did her sister’s. Isn’t she talented? Let me know if you want her info.
