Well, I inspired Mrs. Snow Pea to begin her wedding recap from her stunning August wedding, and she’s inspired me to share how I felt on my wedding day instead just sharing the who/what/when and my photos. I hope you enjoy.
Since I had chosen my wedding gown and it has a somewhat vintage flair, I wanted to find a dress for my girls that wasn’t too modern or trendy, but maybe has a twist on a vintage style. I decided I would like them to wear something v-neck or with straps, since I’m just a little bored with strapless dresses and I think a v-neck will be more universally flattering on my lovely ’maids. And, although I know it’s not the only option, I really want all of my bridesmaid’s to wear the same dress.
One day while browsing some websites, I found this:

It’s that time of year– my favorite time of year, actually. I know we should always be thankful for our blessings, but something about the holidays makes me especially grateful for everyone I have in my life: my loving family, wonderful friends, and the person who makes my heart so joyful: Mr. Jasmine.
We have had extreme luck in vendors for our wedding. Our caterer/event manager is a family friend of Mr. Robin’s and my make-up/hair artist is my good friend and bridesmaid. As for our photographers, well I spent a long time searching the internet looking at different types of photos.
Then one day I was cruising Offbeat Bride and saw this photo:
I was in love with it. And then I saw the name of the company that did it, FS Weddings. And I thought to myself where have I seen that name before? Hmmm.

Bridal magazines keep telling me that I can have my dream wedding. To me, “dream wedding” means no budget and I can be as bridezilla-ish as I desire. I can’t really ever have my dream wedding because I have a budget and I want to keep my friends. I can, however, dream- and this is my dream:
I have the most awesome person at work (who happens to be a guy) whose everyday writing looks like that! When I first saw him filling out a form, the first thing I blurted out was - wow, that person has a stamp with their name and address on it? And then I realized he had written it!

Back in May of 2006, we did a poll on weddingbee reader budgets. The top spot was occupied by the $10,000 - $20,000 bracket, followed by the $20,000 - $30,000 bracket.
Since the “national average” wedding budget is often a disputed number, I thought it’d be interesting to revisit this topic to see if anything has changed! So tell us:
We recently got our professional proofs in the mail — 5 archival boxes of prints with almost 1,900 images. Now I have to start narrowing those down and pick an album style and I need your help.
Daria Bishop Photography offers three different albums — Queensberry, Leather Craftsmen and Cypress. Based on the information I’ve found on each company’s website, I think I’ve ruled out the Queensberry albums as I don’t love the “magazine style” albums that they offer that are so popular right now. I want our album to stand the test of time both physically and aesthetically. So now it’s down to the Leather Craftsmen or the Cypress.
I tend to have trouble making decisions about 95% of the time — big or small, serious or trivial. When I eat out, I will sometimes agonize over the menu for quite a while before making a decision, only to change my mind about it the moment the server walks away to place my order. Not wanting to be a pain, I will not change my order; instead I will just sit and pout and scold myself for my poor decision, and once my food comes I will become painfully aware that it isn’t *really* what I wanted. Totally mature, right?
So, when it comes to a color palette for my wedding, I have not, to say the least, strayed from my indecisiveness.
From the very beginning of the planning extravaganza, I thought I’d like to incorporate a lavender or purple of some sort into our colors. I also always liked the unpredictability and punch of purple and red together, so for a little while, I thought this would be a great color scheme. Until, that is, my BFF/MatronOH pointed out that my wedding could resemble a gathering of these ladies:
Back in October, I lamented the lack of gorgeous wedding shoes for a monkey baby like me. However, pretty much right after I wrote that post, I stopped actively looking for my wedding shoes. This was partially because there were more important things to attend to (who was going to care what shoes I was wearing if we had no tent?), but mostly because, with the stress of work and Christmas lately, I really couldn’t face the idea of trying on things I knew would frustrate me.
However, recently my sole search started up again and I came across a really awesome find I had to share with you all, especially the bigfooted brides like me who find your average pair of shoes uncomfortable on a good day.
The find? Mohop. Inc, a small shoe manufacturer based out of Chicago. Not only are the shoes very cute and stylish, but they’re nicer to the environment than your average pair, with soles made out of recycled tires and sealed using enivronmentally friendly woods, glues, sealers and inks.
I am sure you have already heard about this wedding since it seems to have popped up on every news feed I read this morning. But just in case you didn’t, the full story can be found here.
Today’s guest shutterbug is Scottsdale, AZ based photographer, Melissa Jill.

This is generally a non-issue for brides who hire me but for those of you brides-to-be and wedding coordinators out there–let’s all agree to kill the photography shot list once and for all!! Who’s with me?
Everywhere, that’s where! Mr. Donut and I began our annual Holiday Tour home a week and a half ago and it’s been nonstop ever since. First we went to London where he had interviews (keep your fingers crossed). I must say, it takes an insanely long time to get from Singapore to London. What with the flying through like a gabillion time zones (OK, it’s only 8), the 6 hour layover in Doha, time spent in airports and on “The Tube”, we figured it was something around 28 hours from house to hotel. Without a shower. Or any real amount of sleep. Yum. Needless to say we were exhausted and crashed like a ton of bricks shortly after arriving.
Oh, but London was so completely worth it! It was cold and Christmasy and we had to bundle up wherever we went - quite the change from hot and sticky Singapore. For the most part the weather was lovely. We had just one day of rain, so I was able to explore the city. I think that the best way to learn a new city is just to get lost in it, so I like to have a map and plenty of time to find my way around. Together Mr. Donut and I toured The Tower of London, went to an evensong service at St Paul’s Cathedral, and strolled passed Buckingham Palace. Believe it or not, we even had some pretty good food! Sadly the one thing that I was not really able to do was blog. And I had such visions of me and my trusty iBook in a cafe, hard at work JK Rowling style! Oh, well, maybe next time…
