My Blurb Book

January 2nd, 2008 @ 11:14 am by Mrs. Plum

Everyone’s been making them, so I thought I’d join in and make one for fun (you know, to keep in my purse and force people to look through it at parties winky046) - just something temporary until we order the real deal from our photographer, who makes amazing albums.

Here’s a sneak peek at the cover:

blurb cover

I typed up some of our wedding vows from the ceremony on the inside flap of the dust jacket:

“Hubby, I thank God for bringing you into my life. I choose you this day as my husband, my love, and my best friend. I commit myself to you openly, exclusively, and eternally. I promise you my unconditional love, I give you my unwavering trust, and I share with you all the days of my life.”

I also put several more lines from our vows throughout the book - now I can re-live the wedding day in book form too! happy056

It was super easy to get started, but slightly frustrating at times - they only have a limited number of templates and figuring out which pictures to use and what order to put them in was equally frustrating. No wonder albums cost so much - you really do have to put a lot of thought and time into putting a great one together!

Anyway, I can’t wait! It arrives next week! happy056 I’ll update you on how it turns out!

Mrs. Plum,
Good to hear from you. I look forward to hearing how yours turns out. For my purse, I used qoop.com but I’m going to make a wedding album either mypublisher or blurb.

Very nice Mrs. Plum!

I also just did a sample book and hopefully can give it to our parents as a gift. One question regarding the picture with the vows on the inside flap. Did you create that in booksmart or in Adobe? I couldn’t find the template that allowed text over the picture in Booksmart.

Mrs. Plum,

Lovely vows! Mixbook.com is a similar service and cheaper, too. Thats a great cover though.

Mrs. Plum, did you have to get the original photos from your photographer to do your blurb book? Or are these images from others’ cameras?

Mrs. Plum says:

G - my photographer gave me all the proofs a couple weeks after the wedding, so I used some of those :)

Abbey - I used Booksmart to do everything- i’m not very tech savvy :-P
