Post Wedding Chop

January 2nd, 2008 @ 8:24 am by Mrs. Snow Pea

Last Thursday, Mrs. Poppy, Mrs. Violet, Bridesmaid Lambchop and I got together for dinner and coffee. After seeing their new bobs, I was inspired to take the dive as well. I kept my hair on the long side for the last 2 years for the wedding.  It was so refreshing when the hair stylist took 6-7 inches and began chopping away.

My new do:

Before: With Mrs. Poppy and Mrs. Violet. We had such a great time joking around and telling stories with the random language change by Mrs. Poppy.

Some brides get their hair chopped off. Some brides throw out their DIY materials. What did you do after the wedding that just made you feel so refreshed?

Happy New Year SP!. I love the hair cut. The day after Christmas I had 10 inches cut off. It is a huge change, but so much easier to keep up. I’m loving it. I was a little worried that my husband would freak because it was a little shorter than expected, but he didn’t. He actually seems to really like it.

You look so cute Snow Pea! I had been growing my hair out for my wedding for a year and a half. I couldn’t wait to cut it — I got it cut on our honeymoon! I’m due for another trim already.

Looks like your had so much fun with Mrs. Poppy and Violet — wish I’d been there.

I love your hair cut! I like all the layers. I am planning on doing Locks of Love right after the wedding. I will be so happy to get rid of those 10+ inches in 8 months. I will probably be like Mrs. Onion and go during our mini-moon.

Love the haircut! I did the same thing…chopped off 15-16 inches and donated it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

“After seeing their new bobs, …” ok, I totally read something else (think a second “o”….) and was shocked! :) :) :)

Your hair looks great Mrs. SP! I had been growing my hair out for the last year and half as well for the wedding and got a new bob haircut too (cutting off around 10 inches)! It felt great to be able to do whatever I wanted with my hair.

Oh my gosh, I love love LOVE it!! It’s so flattering on you, what a fabulous “bob job” hehe :)

I think my post-wedding haircut will take off about 3 or 4 inches plus chop my bangs again. I’ve been growing them out for a year even though bangs are very flattering on me, to allow maximum flexibility for my wedding updo, but I want the bangs back once the wedding is over.

Love your new do Mrs. SP!!!
I plan on getting a cut after the wedding as well, and dyeing my hair something fun! I’ve been dyeing my hair solid jet black since last spring and all the parents and the FI love it this way. I’m used to changing it a couple times a year, but not doing it this year due to the wedding [for photos].
So after the wedding I will be itching for a new hair color!

The new do is adorable on you!
I have super straight hair (I did the japanese straight ironing) so for my wedding I’m planning on getting a body wave so that my hair will be able to hold some curl. After that, I’m going back to straight.

Love the new do!

Like Mrs. Onion, I chopped my hair on the honeymoon too - the first day we got there!

Name change, wedding chop, and selling wedding “crap” were all refreshing for me! That, and going on vacation immediately afterward and the honeymoon two months after. All worth it and refreshing!

I did the same thing!!! My hair was already kinda long, but I grew out my bangs and my hair got really long before the wedding.
I got to the point where I was just sick of it, so a few weeks ago, I cut bangs (thick ones) and cut off about 5 inches to make a cute, flipped bob.
This must be a common thing since a lot of people have commented on it (what to do after a wedding, I guess?).
