Leave A Message

January 4th, 2008 @ 2:44 pm by Mrs. Magnolia

My initial plan (way back last summer when I still had all the time in the world!) was to create a photobook for our guestbook, using our fabulous engagement pictures. And then all of a sudden it was December, and certain things had to fall by the wayside, photo guestbook included.

There was, however, one thing that I did know for sure: I was not interested in purchasing a plain, lined book for people to simply sign their names. No offense to any brides out there who may do so, but line after line of signatures just doesn’t do anything for me. Instead, I purchased a navy blue Newport Kolo album. I found mine for $20 at Sam Flax here in Atlanta. Insert engagement picture, and ta da!

(Please excuse the sub-par picture quality. Our computer completely died last week, so I’ve been taking pictures with my blackberry!)

Then, I took a lovely picture frame inlaid with mother-of-pearl, which we received as an engagement gift, and I printed up the following, using an image from our invitations:

(It reads, Please leave a message for the bride and groom.)

Our florist is also preparing a silver footed bowl with white roses/hydrangea, and that will be our guestbook table! Now I just need to find a couple of good pens…

I used these very pretty pens for our guest book: http://whiteaisle.com/silver_pen.htm

They are sooo pretty, but sadly, they are in a drawer now. I need to find a use for them…

If you are going to do the “leave a message” thing, I would make sure that you have planned out the logistics of it out very well. I have been to multiple weddings where it did not flow well, line got backed up, etc. and the bride and groom didn’t end up having half of their guests sign at all! I think it’s a super cute idea, just make sure you find a “just right” spot for it to go.

I wanted to use something like this for my guestbook..but I wanted the guests to use a polaroid to take a picture of themselves, put it in the book, and sign it. Do you think this book would work for that?
