Aqua And Orange

January 5th, 2008 @ 10:20 am by Mrs. Milkshake

I’ve never thought of myself as a “blue” kinda gal, but I’ve always loved aquas. And of course, the notion of complementary colors - blue/orange being more favorable in real life organic settings than red/green and yellow/purple. Here’s a gorgeously inspirational cake from Pailloncakes back east. The flow to the lines is a lot better than a 1 inch strip of grosgrain ribbon encircling the layers so mechanically. I love its simplicity.

I’m drawn to these mod combos, perhaps because they’re mod shapes to begin with. However my victorian mansion doesn’t really go with boldly contrasting colors….

What a beautiful color combo and that cake…. stunning.
What colors does your victorian mansion have? Im sure we can all figure out something…

and at the same time… you dont necessarily have to match your colors with your venue… if only you saw the colors of my venue carpet… ouch! ;)

Blue and orange has always been my absolute favorite color combination — I think it would look simply fabulous for a wedding.
Seeing all the bright, cheerful color combinations sometimes makes me regret that our wedding is just plain black and white… but for a black-tie, formal, center city wedding, in an art deco hotel, it just seemed like the best option.

The 2nd one is one of my color combinations I’m considering as well. That’s a gorgeous cake! Love the flower on top!

Yeah, I’ve always loved this combo. In bolder forms, it’s cool and sporty and preppy. In pastels, it’s just lovely. Either way, it totally pops.

I really love that cake. I’m usually not into these mod-looking, simple things but it speaks to me! The flower makes a huge difference. Beautiful!

Miss Milkshake, I really need some help!

Me and my bf got engaged recently, and I am having a heck of a time contacting Vancouver venues. No one will respond to me! Even taking into consideration all of the recent holidays and so on….. nothing. I seriously don’t understand, I’m polite, straight to the point… and nada. We work graves so I can’t make inquiries by phone, and things are not off to a good start! Would you be willing to email me? I’d really like to get some information from you regarding Vancouver Venues if you don’t mind!

Hey, did you see the new aqua-&-orange invites that Something Old, Something New featured on her blog today? They’re fantastic! The colors look great together, and I realized you’re definitely onto something with that combination!

I love that colors combo, in addition to red and teal. :-) I don’t think you could go wrong, really!
