About Mrs. Plum

Our Blurb Book

January 5th, 2008 @ 12:31 pm by Mrs. Plum

One word: AWESOME!

I have to admit that I was a bit scared because 1) what kind of quality should I expect for only $29.99 and 2) it seems to be a frequent problem on the Blurb forums where people receive an album with their cover but someone else’s book inside (and then a couple days ago, this happened to a fellow Weddingbee-er), but my fears were alleviated when I opened up the cardboard box today! Yay!

The quality is great for the price - you really can’t beat $29.99 for a 40 page hardcover book. The pictures are so clear and the book is really sturdy! (but of course, you need to use high-res pictures for it to come out this clear)

Here are some snapshots of our book:

The albums are from http://www.Blurb.com

Mrs. Plum says:

yes - what Mrs. Snow Pea said! I ordered it through Blurb.com.

I have to admit it took a while to decide which pictures to use, the layout, the order, etc., but it turned out great - totally worth it if you have the patience and time to put one together :) (this is the most frustrating part of the entire process)

Mrs. Plum absolutely gorgeous! I just placed an order for one earlier this week and I can’t wait for it to come!

How long did it take for you to get your book once you placed your order?

Mrs. Plum says:

Abbey - it took about a week! The turnaround time was really quick - I placed the order on a Wednesday night and about a week later, the book was on my doorstep! :) I used the cheapest shipping option as well.

Looks great Mrs. Plum! I just received our honeymoon book through Blurb and it turned out great too! I was worried reading all of the comments on the forums too but I think that they are the minority. They are the people that post the most though.

Thanks for sharing!

I am so glad we didn’t opt for the more expensive package from our photographer to get two more parent albums and more unnecessary coverage!

$30 is a steal and yours came out AMAZING! I keep on reading great things about them. Can’t wait to check them out more :)

Glad you love it! Another option with similar pricing and quality is Lulu.com. I’ve used both for proof books and they do a good job for a reasonable price. But just to be clear, the album companies I use, Asuka, VisionArt, ZookBinders, ACI all make substantially higher quality products, but cost a lot more too. It’s good to have options :)

awesome! this helps so much when you realize you don’t have to pay the photographer over $100 for a photo album. YAY!!!
