Congratulations to commenter #44 Catherine who won Martha Stewart’s Wedding Cakes book giveaway below!
~~~
I was lucky enough to score a copy of the stunning new book, Martha Stewart’s Wedding Cakes. It’s so gorgeous, I’d absolutely love to keep it for myself… but I think a weddingbee reader would love it even more, so we’re giving it away!
The book showcases over 100 of the most inspirational cake creations ever featured within the pages of Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine. There were truly too many beautiful cakes to choose from, but I thought this beehive cake featured on page 69 was particularly appropriate.
To enter, simply tell us your favorite cake baker! You have until 8:00 pm EST tonight to enter. Good luck!
PS - Congrats to Tea and Shannon for winning the last t-shirts in our weddingbee t-shirt giveaway!
PPS - We have another contest from from Cat Seto Custom Invitations tomorrow so stay tuned! Don’t forget to check out Wedding Week on Cat’s blog where she’s going to be featuring her favorite wedding invitation designers, dresses, her sketches and DIY ideas.
There is a baker in Athens, GA named Cecelia Villaveces that does cakes for a restaurant called The Last Resort - they are so good that we would frequent the restaurant just to have dessert and coffee or wine! When I got engaged and decided to have my wedding in Athens, where I went to college, I knew that I would want a Cecelia Villaveces cake for my wedding. Her name alone is enough to evoke a feeling of old world charm and expertise. When I found out that my venue works with her on most weddings - I knew I was set. Tasting cakes to decide on flavors is still probably my favorite wedding planning memory to date.
P.S. I still need inspiration for how I want the wonderful cake to look on the outside, so any help from Martha Stewart’s book would be much needed and appreciated. I know that Cecelia can duplicate almost anything!
