Shopstyle.com - Shopping on Speed

January 9th, 2008 @ 6:20 pm by Mrs. Penguin

I am looking for a specific “look” of earrings for my wedding - at LEAST 4 inches long, dangly silver chains that don’t look too “blingy” but still is “there”.  I got this idea from Bride’s Magazine…specifically this beautiful picture:

DEFINITELY the look I’m going for.I occasionally pop into department stores to check for earrings but its very hard when you have such a specific and unusual style in mind. I come across dozens of 3 inch dangles, but very rarely any longer than that, and when they are they’re usually some crazy hooker-style earrings that really don’t scream “Bridal”.

Earlier this year I stumbled upon the ShopStyle Website and it’s become one of my favorite online shopping meccas. You can click on a specific item you’re shopping for (in my case, jewelry/earrings), and the ShopStyle website draws items from a large pool of boutiques and department stores and makes it so easy to cross-shop a bunch of stores all in one place.

The best part? If you find something you like, but the price is too steep, you can set up E-Mail alerts, and ShopStyle will send you an E-Mail if the item you had your eye on goes on sale!

Happy Shopping!

I’ve seen long earrings like that at Nordstroms (in the BP department) and Forever 21.

Earrings like that would be really easy to make. Just whatever post or hook you want, with chains, and even with semi-precious stones or pearls on the end of the chains. You can get findings in sterling silver or gold (gold-filled). Feel free to email me if you have questions! :)

I checked out Dasha Boutique, where I got my bridesmaids’ jewelry. They do gorgeous earrings, and they’ll customize lengths for you. Even just in stock, check these out…

Those are beautiful. I also found a lot of great ideas at thefind.com - try these:
