Weekly Check In

January 9th, 2008 @ 5:22 pm by Ms. Dahlia

It is Wednesday, which means that it’s time for an exercise update. (After last week’s post, there was some interest in a weekly check in, so here goes.)I successfully ran two miles on Thursday (and by successfully, I mean I ran everywhere the sidewalks/roads were plowed;’ there was maybe a quarter mile where I walked because it’s just too hard to run in 8 inches of snow.)

Friday was some at home strength training, and I did more of the same on Monday.

Not too shabby considering the sadness/craziness of the past few days.

More on that will come. (Perhaps a compare/contrast of weddings and funerals, since the same people attend both? Or why everyone at a funeral wants to talk about wedding planning? Or how cute the ring bearer and flower girl will be at the wedding of “Aunt Fun”, the nickname I was given after we made pillow forts together in the basement of the funeral home?)

How else has everyone fared in their exercise plans for this week?

Miss Dahlia, I am so sorry to hear about a funeral in your family. My guess is that everyone wants to discuss the wedding to lift spirits and remember that happier times are to come?

Let’s see… this week, I did 3 days on the elliptical, lifted at home twice, and ran some errands around Georgetown during a long incubation period in the lab and amassed over 20,000 steps on my pedometer. And somehow, according to the scale, gained half a pound. Not exactly a great start, eh?

So sorry to hear about the loss in your family.

I did 4 days on the elliptical, and seemed to walk a phenomenal about at work running errands for my boss. So far, 1 pound down!

I joined a half marathon training group locally. We started in mid-December but this week we really got in full gear. So, I ran 3 days and again tonight and have done 2 days of cross-training. I am looking forward to my rest day tomorrow!
Everybody keep up the great work!
