Chauffeur!

January 10th, 2008 @ 1:12 pm by Mrs. Flamingo

Ever since the beginning of our wedding planning, there has been one thing we’ve known for sure - we wanted a limo. I’ve always envisioned myself in my dress stepping out of a limo… stepping out in style!

When Mr.Flamingo and I discussed what model interested us, we had no clue - modern or vintage? I personally wanted a vintage model… so perfect for our theme. But Mr Flamingo wanted to opt for a more modern one, for the convenience of having everyone ride together. After visiting a local bridal store last weekend… we both fell in love. I present to you our Vintage Bentley 1959.

I made a limo inspiration board with ideas of car poses I would like to have. The first two pictures of are the actual car. Isn’t it so perfect??? There’s also the classic pose with the couple in the rear view mirror and some other nice set ups. I will keep searching the net for some great shots and if you ever find any, don’t hesitate to share :) … I want to take tonnes of pictures with this car, it’s so glamorous!

For the price, we got an awesome deal and I couldn’t be happier. Here’s what we got: 375$ taxes included for 6 hours and we get: champagne and water, a chauffeur with white gloves and red carpet. (I love the red carpet it’s so Hollywood!)

Will you be having a chauffeur the day of? Is anyone having something different as means of transportation?

We soooo wanted a vintage rolls, but unfortunately the very tiny town we’re getting married in is without such options. HOWEVER, a unique opportunity presented itself in the form of charter busses! We’re getting married on the campus of the university we both graduated from, and these are university busses — complete with logo and mascott painted on the side! We decided to embrace it, so are using the busses to transport us, the wedding party and shuttle our guests to/from the ceremony. best of all? It is only costing $300 for 2 busses for 4 hours. Cheap and themed = good.

We’re having a Bentley too! It’s silver, 1952. Can’t wait - I love cars.

Love the vintage cars! We ended up in a 1950s white Rolls Royce Wraith. Very classy. We actually used that as the get-away car (I even changed into another dress) but a longer hummer to transport the huge party from church to reception.

In any case! My point was that those old cars sometimes do not have AC - ours didn’t - so it gets quite hot in that! I’m glad you’ve got water - depending on your location and time, you’re gonna need it!

Here’s a fun picture -

Ya we dont have AC…. but its not that bad. My house to the church is 10 minutes. and the church to the reception site is 10 minutes.

Either way… its gonna be hot that day!

Love your car pick!

My FI is a total classic car enthusiast so I am trying to find a classic (rental) as a surprise for him. I have a few leads so far but nothing in stone. If I don’t get my act together quick we’ll go the limo route too - always love riding in a limo!!

Miss Flamingo, gorgeous car! I’m dying to do a vintage/classic car, but the only company I’ve found in Northern California who will do this charges $125 an hour (with no driver!). Do you by any chance mind sharing the name of the company you’re working with?

Thanks Amy. I am from Montreal, Quebec Canada… but the name of the company which I used to rent the car is called Chanelle Limousine.

They have a website but it isnt very up to date
http://www.chanellelimousine.com

Good luck to you… maybe you can ask a family member to be the chauffeur. You would definitely save on the tip.
