Hooray For Free Samples!

January 10th, 2008 @ 4:23 pm by Mrs. Cupcake

No, I’m not talking about the little free samples of strange concoctions at the grocery store…. free paper samples! My favorite kind!

I recently found some pocket-folds on paperpresentation.com that I’m thinking about using for our save-the-dates. The pockets they offer are a good price, and there is a nice range of colors and styles. When I was perusing the website to find a place to order samples, I couldn’t find any such information. Most of these paper websites offer samples, but they typically run from $5-$7 per sample, which can get a little pricey if you are comparing several colors, styles, etc.

I proceeded to use the handy dandy “contact us” link and emailed the Paper Presentation folks to see if I could get a sample or two. They wrote back to tell me that I could get up to FIVE samples, at no charge! Unheard of! Exactly six days later, I received the five different samples I ordered, in an envelope with $2 worth of postage. And I didn’t have to pay a penny.

Yay for vendors who realize that treating customers well from the beginning will pay off later on!

Another bonus about Paper Presentation is that they guarantee satisfaction with their products, and if you’re not satisfied you can return them within 60 days.

Have you found any other vendors out there (paper or non-paper) that offer free samples for your convenience? Share ’em with the hive!

Wedding Graffiti will send you as many samples as you like of their “graffiti”. it’s basically removal stickers of just about anything. You can custom order a monogram, a saying, a logo - anything! They also have pre-made ones. I ordered like 7 colors - haven’t tried them out yet but am looking forward to it!

It does take a little while though for you to get the samples. At least 2 weeks. But it’s free!

Oh I forgot to mention, I used Paper Presentation for all my wedding stationary. I went to the store to buy it, and they are really nice there! And the paper is fantastic!

Thank you so much for this tip! I’ve been looking around their site and couldn’t really find the samples request, either!

I just emailed them and I can’t wait to get a sample so I can insure before I buy! :)

Always come to weddingbee for answers!

invitesite.com will send a sample of any one of their GORGEOUS environmentally-friendly(tree-free paper!) invites as well as paper swatches for any additional designs.

The invites are semi-DIY. You print the interior pages using one of their templates and follow their instructions to assemble. They send you all the tools and accesories you need to put them together too.

They also have matching programs, STDs, and you can buy extra paper for any other projects.

SO gorgeous!

I used Paper Presentation for my wedding invitations. They were great to work with and very friendly. The people at the store were patient with us since we had a quite few changes after seeing our proofs.

ariadress.com will send you up to 7 samples of their fabric for free. I went with the duchess silk, but they also have dupioni silk and cotton eyelet, and all their styles are so cute!

I don’t know if this counts, but before I decided on Saima Says Design, she sent me a large packet of custom invitations and save the dates that she had done. I was really surprised because every other designer was charging a ton for samples, so I was really thrilled with the free packet.

We recently got some free samples from http://www.cardsdeluxe.com as we were searching for invitations. They are not a company local to us so we were able to check out the quality of the invitations this way. I think it’s a great idea and service to us brides.
