Valentine’s Swap?

January 10th, 2008 @ 4:45 pm by Mrs. Bee

We had a ton of fun with the Bee Secret Santa Exchange, and some readers expressed interest in participating in a Weddingbee swap!  So Mrs. Spider had the idea of doing a Valentine’s card swap.

Would you be interested in participating in a Weddingbee Swap?  If so, what should we swap?  All ideas welcome. :)

I say you must incorporate some sort of heart theme…. maybe the card that has teh most hearts wins a little starbucks gc?

I think home made cards would be great! Since the readers don’t know each other as well as we know the bees, gifts would be difficult!

we can always do a wedding themed swap later in the year. Mrs. BOP had the idea of a “something blue” theme. That might be a lot of fun too! :)

That is a cute idea, Mrs. Bee!

I think for Valentine’s Day, we should definitely go the route of DIY cards.

Oh man. Does a couple of stickers and some markers count as DIY?

How ’bout a good ol’ fashion HEART theme? All items must be in the shape of a heart. Then we can compile a giant collage of all the different shape, size and textured hearts that are exchanged. Think of all the possibilities:

- cut a sponge into a heart
- knit a little heart shaped coaster
- glue hersey kisses into a heart pattern
- bake some heart cookies

the possibilities of fashioning some random material into a heart is endless!

Homemade Valentines would be fun! I participated in the Holiday Card Swap sponsored by Brooklyn Bride. It was so much fun to receive cards from different places.

I have been itching to make some more homemade cards ever since all of the Valentine’s Day goodies started appearing in the stores.
