I haven’t gone gown shopping in quite a few months. When I’d started, I had over 12 months to get a dress and most salesladies were impressed I had started with so much time to spare.
So today I decided to visit Princess Bride Couture, a great store in a quaint little antique-shoppe/artisan village in Bothell, WA, which is a suburb just outside Seattle. They happened to be having a Pronovias trunk show this weekend, with 10% off those gowns. If that piques your interest, they go by appointments only so phone them up. I had a great experience there today with a consultant that spent four hours with me (yes, I am that kind of bride…. I somehow have the stamina to jump in and out of 20+ dresses at each shop, and have sometimes done two shops in one day). Luckily they provided lots of bottled water, and even some biscotti by the time 7 o’clock rolled around. I’ve been to 9 different dress shops now, tried on hundreds of dresses, and can honestly say that there’s only one dress that I would consider. It’s a gorgeous lace Maggie Sottero dress that of course isn’t on the internet. So here are three that I picked out yesterday - please tell me which one’s your favorite.
Dress #1: Pronovias, Rosalita
Dress #2: Pronovias, Prenacarnita (note I really hate the neckline)
Dress #3: I’m not sure of the brand:
This last dress definitely had the most zing - it glowed, but I kind of feel that it’s like a lot of other wedding dresses:

The first one and the last one are stunning I really love the details on the first one and the shape is really incredibly flattering, it’s also more unique than the last one, which does look like a lot of other dresses, BUT both are stunning.
Rosalita! That is an amazing dress, love the lace and the bottom of the dress. Gorgeous!

#1 is gorgeous, flattering and unusual (in the GOOD way!) I love the bottom!
The last one (glowing dress) is also beautiful, but you are right that it is not as unique.
The Rosalita is so unique and suits your body amazingly well. You look like a knockout in it and since I doubt the majority of women can pull it off you should go for it!

You look gorgeous in all of them! #3 is gorgeous and fits you like a glove! I got my gown at Something Blue in La Conner, Washingon. You should check it out if it is not far from you. The service there was amazing and they carried Amy kuschel which was a specific designer that I was interested in. I went on a weekday and the owner shut down the shop just for me. It was great to get personal service like that.
I looove 1, 3 and 4… I don’t like the one with the neckline you don’t like or the last two very much.
I vote #4. This is the one you said you glowed in & I agree. It looks like it was made on you!
Rosalita #1. It makes you look as tall and willowy as a model! It’s dreamy.

I love number 3 on you! It just looks awesome on you but if I had to pick another dress I would pick number 1 as well!

I think number 3 is the most classy, and is my favorite, but number one is more unique. I love both.

Number one is beautiful…and I think if it fit you, it would look amazing. Number three is great, but not as original at #1
#3 is the most stunning on your figure… especially your behind! However I think it would look even better if you could modify the neckline a bit to a “Sweetheart” shape, and maybe have the back cut a bit lower. Second runner up is dress #1.
#3 is the most flattering and i think the color goes better with your skin tone (unless it’s just the flash or lighting affecting it).

Three and five - very nice on your skin tone and look smashing style-wise with your figure.
Cheryl this is your MOH, don’t listen to all these crazy folks - 3 has a butt bow and everything you don’t like about that back, so why are you even entertaining the idea? - we’ve been over this again and again - go back to where we were - when you liked the dress and weren’t waffling about everything else - this is like Hycroft/venue fiasco all over again - do it make a decision and get on it.

Number ONE! It is very special, completely unique and super elegant.
The third one is the most flattering on you (your ass looks great!!!) but I really like the very last one. It’s absolutly gorgeous. Do you know the brand on that?
I really like the first one and Jude Wadell ( I think #4). They both look beautiful on you, just depends if you want lace and silk. But the cut is definitely right, you have a beautiful figure, show it off ! Good Luck !
Dress #1 is unique in the sense that it has a lot going on, but it all goes very nicely together at the same time. BUT I like #3 too! =)
#3 looks so great on you and you definitely have the body to make that gorgeous back side of the dress work! #1 is also pretty, but I felt like it didn’t look as nice on you as #3~ good luck!

i normally don’t like lacey things… but i REALLY like the first one! it has a lot of really gorgeous details on it… especially the skirt part. i love how it flows.
with regards to your MOH’s comment regarding the butt bow… I’m sure that could be removed from #3… but she’s totally right - if you didn’t get the “feeling” from any of these dresses, don’t settle!

The “glowing” dress is definitely my favorite, but if you want to take another shot at shopping, I recommend Cicada Bridal in Seattle.

I love the cut of the first one, but I don’t like the lace. Other than that, none of these are jumping out at me as being the right one for you. You look gorgeous in everything - because you ARE - but I’m not sold on any of these 4. Just sayin’.
I looooove the Pronovias Rosalita - it looks great on you, the texture is amazing and the lace is really unique. My second choice would be the Judd Waddell - it’s one I had considered for myself as well, but I agree, while it’s exquisitely cut, it is a bit plain.
#1 is awesome. the neckline is really flattering and it really shows off your figure. not to mention it is unique, unlike all the dresses you see in magazines, and it has an incredible pattern/texture. it will be timeless.

#4 is a personal fave of mine…i too had the same thought at first, but I am SO glad that I chose it (not that seeing another bride in it makes it feel anymore unique…but when i got it altered, i had a custom “funky” off to the side bustle. the bustle you see there is not the custom bustle though. It was broke when my grandpa fell dancing and grabbed onto my dress:(…
i REALLY like #1… and it’s so unique and not like most bridal gowns. you look amazing in it! #3 seems like a much too common style.

Hah, I’m going to break with everyone and say the one on the bottom right, the very last one, with the straps and the v neckline. The fabric looks awesome, and it just gives you this graceful portrait sort of look. But they’re all lovely!

#4 the Judd Waddell. My dress is by Judd Waddell and I have to say, the quality is amazing and his dresses are uniquely simple but gorgeous!

I am going to say that either #2 or #4 looks the best. #1 I think is a little bit overwhelming.
I LOVE # 1 as well as # 3…tough choice. You’ll look wonderful whatever one you choose.
The reese dress form fits you perfectly. I like the drapes on you. The bottom of the pronovias is really different and cute. Advice, i purchased a pronovias from Faye’s Designer Bridal in Canada and they sent me a USED dress with armpit stains, broken stitches and other problems. They insist that is how the gown came and I’m still fighting to get my money back. I’ve returned the dress and only gotten back $200 so far and it’s been over a month. Stay clear of this place girls!

Ooh, girl, you are ROCKIN’ that first dress. I really love the Judd Waddel on you, too. My least favorite is the fuller ones at the bottom; they hide your figure!
To tell you the truth, I would keep on looking.
If you are looking for that romantic Victorian look, I would go with the first dress. It looks stunning from far. The only problem I have with it, is that the lace on this dress looks too rough, doesn’t give that soft tender feel of a romantic lacy dress.
If you are going for a glamorous look, I will choose the 3rd dress, but I will suggest a bigger train that could be tucked up.
From the dresses you picked, it looked as you like dresses without trains. But I really believe a train will look wonderfully on the wedding dress.
Your pick. Just want to give you some honest opinions.
The fourth dress is the best. Will your venue allow you to wear a strapless dress? Some churches will not allow this. Due to your figure, I would choose the fourth. (the one with the magazine photo) You look BETTER than the model girl!
2 or 3 for me…of course I can tell you’ll look stunning no matter what! I know you’re not crazy about that neckline in two, but I love the lines/beadwork!

I’ve never had such an easy vote - #3, #3 all the way. I think if I were just voting for the dress itself, not on you, #1 and #4 also look very nice. But I think #3 is much more flattering for your body and also feels much younger.

I LOVE Rosalita…I had a feeling it was a Pronovias because it is very romantic. Although I am biased..I have a Pronovias which I love.

They do all look great on you, but I LOVE #1. I am biased because I love couture and fashion and this one definitely follows suit with that. I think it will really make you stand out.
Without a doubt - #3. It looks perfect on you. The bow in the back is such a cute little surprise and the texture of the dress isn’t too fussy. I love it.

#1 - far and away. It’s really just gorgeous, different, flattering - I can’t say enough great things. I agree with your MOH that the back of #3 is horrendous. If I had to have a second choice, it would be #4, which does glow, but I agree with you that it’s ordinary-looking.
#1. When it’s fitted, it will look incredible on you. I can’t get over the way #1 flares out at the bottom. The pictures taken when you’re at the altar will be amazing. You’re one of the lucky few who can pull off all over lace with that kind of silhouette, it’s gorgeous.
