Why is this man so grumpy and camera shy?
It could be because he’s realized he’s wearing the same shirt he wore for his last Weddingbee appearance. Or it could be because he’s been roped into a two-hour drive to help his fiance retrieve her wedding gown.
Either way, it couldn’t be helped. I was tired of staring wistfully at this stupid picture and not being able to see/touch/smell my dress in person. So despite everyone’s protestations that I just patiently keep it stored securely at the shop in Scottsdale, I took action. I initiated Operation Reclamation.
We hijacked his parents’ SUV and headed north to Destiny’s Bride. Upon arrival, I explained to the receptionist that my gown will be kept safe, clean, and otherwise happy at home with me in Tucson. Mr. Lovebug, meanwhile, took in the latest runway show:

After signing a release and setting a late-March date for alterations, I was handed over my gown! They released my Camilla!

And look! She can fly! (BTW, I don’t really go around calling my dress by its style name. I mean, that would be just silly.)
We lay her gently down for a nap, and somehow, I lasted the entire ride home without climbing in back and peeking.
The minute we walked in, I shut myself in the spare bedroom and carefully pulled it on. All that business about second thoughts and wondering if I even still like my dress…it all vanished the second I zipped it up. I absolutely love it, and I can’t wait to show you guys. As soon as I can get a friend over to take some pics, I will use the insta-post button!
THE DUCHESS HAS LANDED. I REPEAT: THE DUCHESS HAS LANDED.
Miss LB: You always manage to make me laugh out loud (especially when I’m at work!) Yay for getting your dress! You better post pictures soon!
