I Got My @$$ WhOOped Last Night!

NO! Not by Mr. CB! … by my trainer!!!

… is how my legs be feeling right now. Stairs are my worst enemy at the moment.

I started working on my fitness last year soon after the engagement. I was consistent for a while then things just got slow, I got lazy, the excuses, then the excuses came and went. Then I got my arse in gear and met with a trainer yet again and was back on track but then I fell off the bandwagon… again!

Now with only 100 days to go (holy crappola crapknockers!)……. I’m freaking out and need to really kick it into HIGH gear like turbo style.

If I have any hopes that ever in my life would I don one of these …

I need to kick this jellay into action. * daym she’s HOT stuff *

It’s been my first time back in months - he was easy on the workout but man it got my blood flowing. I’ve been put on a rigorous strict diet but I’m trying my darn hardest to make it. If you want information for my trainer, drop me a line and I’ll email you his information. It really does help to have someone push and motivate you. At one point, I asked him if it was okay to scream ” I hate you. ” LOL! laughin01 As much as I was b*tching about it, I wanted to do it and I know I had to get through it. It feels good knowing I pushed myself real hard. I can’t wait for my next session now.

As much as this is for the wedding and for the honeymoon where I hope to sport a bikini and not a tankini set, Mr. CB said something that really struck home for me. He’s a total workoutaholic. He’s dedicated to his workouts 3 times a week and has been for years now, and encourages me to get into shape. I know I’m being an overly sensitive biznatch when he tries to encourage me or be supportive, but like I’ve told him before, I’ve only taken it the wrong way as if he wants me to meet some “skinny standard.” But in reality, he told me, he cares a lot about my health, well, because I get sick often. And the reason, he works out so often and wants to maintain a healthy fit lifestyle is because he wants to be around for a long time …. with me. aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwww. Good point honey! It’s WORK IT time!

How are YOU working on your fitness? What is your motivation? Any helpful tips?

I work out at least 3 times a week, but aim for 5 days a week. Going to the gym with my FI is great because even though we don’t work out together (I’m usually on cardio and he’s on weights) at least we know that we’re getting in shape together.

What helps me the most is to pack my gym bag the night before and keep it in the car so that when FI comes to pick me up from work, we go straight to the gym. If we go home first, then I’ll just want to stay home and play with the doggies and watch TV.

Another tip that I have is if you are at a gym with good classes, take advantage of them! I take step+abs class and a “sculpting” (weight lifting) class and really enjoy the work out I get. I used to just run on the treadmill or elipitical but since I’ve started taking classes I’m way more motivated because the hour goes by way faster and since it varies every time I go, it’s never boring.

Work it Styleish - thanks for the tip. I really need to learn to pack my bags the night before so it’s easy to grab and go. I feel ya, once I’m home, I don’t want to go back out.

Alessette - I’m waiting on email re: rates, I’ll email you in the info once he emails me back!

I JUST started working with a trainer yesterday. It’s been 2 days in row and I am beyond sore. So sore that I can’t really sit, get up, or bend over. I don’t even want to try stairs.
Ms. CB- would you mind sharing your strict diet? I need to add that element as well. Thanks!

Haha, I want to be Alessandra too (that IS her, right?).

Working out is hard, but it feels good doesn’t it?

Amanda - going down the stairs is a real b*tch for me right now. It’s painful but I just keep thinking, the pain will be worth it! It has to be so long as I commit.

If you started working with a trainer, definitely talk to him/her about what kind of diet works best for you bc they can give you helpful nutrition tips.

As for my diet, it consists of eating small meals 5 to 6 times a day. I’m trying to eat a lot of protein and veggies, nuts (raw - unflavored), some fruits, cutting out my carbs and sugar intake and drinking tons and tons of water. If you feed the really bad desire to eat or snack, drink tons of water, it’s good for you and it temporarily helps you feel full. Or, grab a healthy snack like a fruit or some nuts.

L - Yes that is Alessandra, she is O.M.G. GOOOOORGEOUS. so much drool worthy!!!! I so want to be her! LOL, she got that sexy a little innocent girl next door look sometimes.

and yes, it’s hard work but it does feel good!

I know what you mean! Getting fit is such hard work and I’m really lazy. Now that my fiancé and I set a real date, I have to kick it into high gear!

He’s a fitness nut, so he is acting as my trainer. I have to bike for 30 min 3-5 days a week. And I also do the Carmen Electra Aerobic Striptease DVDs.

Now I have to work on eating healthier. Sacrificing pizza is harder than working out. :(

Hi there.. I was just posting something about this the other day. you can see my regiment on my website. But what keeps me in line or motivated is when I track it on my calendar… just looking at home many days I worked out that week keeps me going and motivated. No worries - I only have 123 days left so I am right there with you. you can do it.

bbg-girl says:

I have only a little over 60 days left and I still can’t motivate myself to consistently go to the gym!!! :( Sigh - I’m learning to myself the way I am…even with the jigglies

My fiance works out every morning, and has for years. I work out whenever I feel like it.

He says the same exact thing ‘ i want you to be healthy, i want you around a long time . .. blah blah blah’

yes they care about us, sure. but don’t get it twisted - they want you skinny too. your natural instinct to get bitchy when he breathes the first words of ‘go to the gym’, is not totally unwarranted. :)

Hmm… 122 days to go. Time for me to REALLY get to business. My problem is that I work such long hours that I just do not have any oomph left at the end of the day to work out (and I even own my own ellipitcal in my apartment — I don’t have to GO to a gym). But I generally leave before 6am and don’t get back until after 8pm, and then I still have to cook dinner for my fiance, do general household chores, I generally at least an hour of data analysis to do at home, and I’m trying to work on the wedding invitations… so on a GOOD night, I get 6 hours of sleep, and I can’t imagine sacrificing one of those hours to work out.
I think truthfully my problem is that I don’t eat enough. I’ve totally lost my appetite lately, and I think my body is desperately clinging onto all the fat in starvation mode so I’m not losing any weight (and I have a lot that I would like to lose). Let go, body, let go!

I started working out again after a several year break because I was inspired by my FI (boyfriend at that time). He was always going to the gym, so I started going too so I wouldn’t be such a sloth. Even though I exercised regularly, I wasn’t eating very well. In August, I stopped messing around and got serious about not eating out as much and cooking more. Since then I’ve lost 15 pounds, and I’m giving myself until my June wedding to lose another 5.

To make my workouts go faster, I download podcasts from NPR (because I am a giant dork).

The water thing totally works. Not only does it help you lose weight, but you just FEEL so much better.

I rewarded/motivated myself with two string bikinis for our honeymoon that I got in the mail yesterday. I look so much better than I ever have!

haha i have about 100 days to go til my wedding too. My fiance sounds just like yours… he’s a total workoutaholic… his BODY is in a FINE shape… VERY HOT… yet i struggle to go to the gym and get a really good workout. Cardio espeically gets really boring after 5 minutes. haha. thanks for the movtivation :) Maybe i should try looking into the boot camp trainning at the gyms… has anyone tried the boot camp trainning??

My motivation is my strapless dress!! Who wants to have a fat ugly back in one of those? Also my other motivation is my bikini in Antigua!! I am so motivated lately, hopefully I will keep it up until October.

I usually do the bike for 40 minutes or spin class (which is awesome and I totally recommend) then free weights, abs and the weight machines 3-5 times a week. I feel the results, hopefully I will really be able to see them soon!!!

I decided to dedicate myself to working out AFTER the wedding (I just couldn’t get it together before). But I refuse to be one of those wives who just let themselves go! So my husband and I joined the gym and he acts as my trainer too. I’ve always been discouraged with working out because I didn’t see results fast enough. But this time I’m sticking with it, and I’m actually starting to like going (even though once again I’m not seeing any results yet - we’ve been going 4-5 times a week but its only been a month).

Now, I have to work on eating better… any tips, websites, motivation etc. are definitely welcome!

Miss Cherry Blossom, hang in there with the soreness! I’ve been working out with my trainer for over a year and a half now (1/2 hour every Tuesday and Thursday morning), and he kicks my BUTT, lemme tell ya! I call him all kinds of names, but he’s used to it. And he knows I love him, so he doesn’t take it to heart, of course.

Anyway, I’ve found that as I’ve gotten stronger, the soreness doesn’t last as long each time I get a really tough workout. Which, I suppose, is the point to training the muscles and all in the first place. :) But it doesn’t mean that while it hurts it doesn’t suck…it does fo sho! It’s just nice that it doesn’t hurt for 3 or 4 days at a time…now it’s just bad for one day and then it gets significantly better the day after that.

Good job on kicking it into gear! Healthy hearts are happy hearts…

Hey Miss CB! G’Luck with your workouts!! I feel that what really worked for me is going to classes that you actually enjoy and are not hesitant to go back to! I’ve been taking Spinning classes (M-F) at Gold’s Gym for over 3 months now and I can totally see the results!! And it’s SUPER fun! it’s such a calorie-burner no question asked!

Also, my FI and I make it a point to be active as much as possible when possible. We went to Crystal Springs (?) last weekend and ran 4 miles together. It was such a beautfiul day and so refreshing to be outdoors and breathing that cripsy clean air!! mmmm! You guys outta try it out! I guess the number one thing is to make working out/exercise one of your hobbies.. Then I’m sure you’ll be motivated to continue even AFTER your wedding!

Good luck girl! And no matter what I’m sure you’ll be one beautfiul bride!!
