Paper Wedding 2008

January 24th, 2008 @ 1:39 pm by Mrs. Cherry Blossom

… yet another event I A.B.S.O.L.U.T.E.L.Y. loooooooved! ….

I had been checking the Paper Source Events Calender like mad to see when this event would be posted but na-dah! Then I hit up the store recently to pick up some supplies, and wAH BAM! They had brochures for it sitting at the front of the store. SCORE! If you haven’t gone to this event, you must!!!! The best part - they offer the workshop for free!! So come, bring your friends, I’ll be there! NOTE to self: remember to bring a notebook to take notes and $moolah$. They share tons of helpful tips for crafting and I ended up shopping like mad afterwards. Paper Source Rocks!

A looksie at their brochure: Workshops going on in Feb and a list of all the wonderful events that you can expect the day of the workshop. Stop by and grab yourself a copy. And duuuude - it had cherry blossoms all over the brochure, you wonder why it caught my eye!

I went last year with a girlfriend and I couldn’t believe how quickly the time flew by and how much fun I had. Here is a glimpse of all the creative things they shared and taught you how to make step-by-step.

Cool Outer Envelope idea. I thought about doing this for our invites but we decided to keep it simple.

Heat Embossing onto Vellum Envelopes: foh shizzles - for our “maybe” candy buffet!
s12907706

Favors: they actually used an embosser to add “thank you” all over the bag of almonds. AWESOME!

Neat creative organizer:

They had a few vendors there rocking their stuff, and yours truly had to rock it too! Gosh how I love ranunculus and orchids; too bad ranunculus won’t last in a bouquet for long since they need hydration, but it’s okay - I can ooh and aah here.

Let me know if you attend!

Fo’ shizzle. Definitely drop by the store. I’m not sure why they don’t have it online but it’s worth the trip to make it in the store to check out their goodies and pick up the brochure, if it’s available! =)

I absolutely love Paper Source! But alas, I live in the Midwest (and nowhere near Chicago!) so I pacify my Paper Source fix online, but this event sounds so inspiring.

Wow! Miss Cherry Blossom, do you know if I have to sign up at the store or if it first come first serve?

No sign up necessary. Just be there. :) I was there at the crack of open for their store. Anxiously waiting and waiting. I was just too excited! My heart pounding * open * *open *

oh I wish they have paper-source here in New York. We only have Kate’s Paper and some other places that sell expensive stuff and it is nothing compare what Paper-Source has to offer. Please someone tell paper-source to open one in NYC. That will be my hang out place if they do open. Ha Ha I might even end up working there.

Are you sure it’s free? I would love to go to the one in the Marina for the Wedding Invitation session but when I look online it says that it’s $55.

Klaerea - the Paper Wedding event is definitely free to the public. The other workshops listed in their events calendar are workshops that you need to pay for because they spend the 3 hours focused on helping/teaching you more specifics on the workshops topic.

The paper wedding event are brief workshops with different instructors that go over simple DIY projects that anyone can venture off home to explore more on.

Miss Cherry Blossom, thanks for sharing! These look awesome. I love the fan save the date and would love to do these for my wedding. Can you share the technique? Are those flowers stamped onto the main part of the fan?
