Top It Off!

I am so so so excited to post about this. It’s done! My fabulous and uber-cute cake topper by Lauren Alane. I contacted Lauren back in October last year after seeing some of her beautiful creations on Etsy. I loved that her birds had so much personality… and my favorite part? Accessories! I looked through her “sold” pieces and two birds caught my eye, a blue one with headphones and a red one with glasses. I thought they were perfect for me (nerdy) and Mr. Canary (loves music).
So Lauren and I started emailing and brainstorming ideas. I wanted a cake topper, but didn’t necessarily need a bride and groom on top– just two birdies that would represent me and Mr. Canary.
Lauren is so great to work with. It was her first topper and she was so communicative and open to new ideas. I sent her my crazy PowerPoint presentation full of inspiration photos and Lauren was so excited because we liked the same aesthetics. We discussed different types of bases and finally she found the perfect birch piece.
And today, I received an email from Lauren notifying me that the cake topper was finally finished and she had some amazing pictures attached! Lauren’s husband, Joey, takes all the photos for her and they are just as great as the pieces themselves.
Without further ado, I present Mr. and Miss Canary (in technicolor!):

Thank you Miss C for the reference to Lauren! She is so sweet and WOW your toppers are amazing!!! Anyone thinking of doing bird toppers, CHECK HER OUT! SHES SO SWEET! And her prices are really reasonable too

Freakin’ adorable. I LOVE anything needlefelted. Any day now, I”m going to start a major collection. Going to straight up buy out Etsy’s entire needlefelting division, I swear. Yay for lovebirdie cake toppers!

Cindyf: They run about $150 for the topper. The single birds are a lot less, but I can’t recall what Lauren is selling them for. Just email her. Her prices are all very reasonable.
Miss Lovebug: I have started a felted animal menagerie! Mr. C thinks I’m crazy, but I love them each and every one of them.
