About Mrs. Butterscotch

I Love You!

January 28th, 2008 @ 12:29 pm by Mrs. Butterscotch

Last night Mr Butterscotch and I went out to Target to get some snacks for the movie we were going to see (his movie night pick - Meet the Spartans - here we come!). While he was scanning the DVD section, he pointed out a movie called Paris, je t’aime. I was so excited for many reasons - it made me think of his proposal, showed he was thinking about something that was special to us, and I love looking at French words and actually knowing what it means!

During the movie I started to think about Valentine’s Day. I know it’s 3 weeks away, but since this is our first as a married couple, I want to do something special for him that won’t break the bank so I think I will actually make him something. Why not?!? I already have my crafty hat on thinking of my cards for the Weddingbee Valentines card swap.

With my intermediate French skills in mind, I started to think about how you say “I love you” in different languages. After a little digging, I found a few I thought I would share with all of you! I will be sure to show you what I end up doing with all my new words of love!

What language do you tell you honey you love him in? Any special phases you can share with me?!

i’ve been seeing that movie everywhere. i may have to check it out.

i plan on making my bf those felt fortune cookies for valentine’s day and maybe tossing in some real ones too. i was going to make my own fortunes but maybe i’ll add how to say “i love you” in the other languages on the backs of the fortunes. after all, i do have some fortunes that “teach” me to speak chinese!

there is a tile mural in paris this has “i love you” written in a gazillion different languages. my old boss took a picture of it. it was so beautiful. on top of this large mural was a drawing of a woman w/ the quote in french that say “be reasonable, but demand the impossible”. you would love it if you saw it.

you already have tagalog down, so I’ll comment on the movie! It’s cute…though not for everyone…and probably not for the guys either. FI got bored and fell asleep. And some shorts are better than others. I particularly loved the one with the Muslim girl! All in all, I would recommend it.
