In order to get to know all our new readers, we’re launching a regular feature called Welcome, where you can introduce yourself to the hive!

And since we’re getting to know you, we thought we’d share some weddingbee trivia with each post so you get to know us a little better as well.

Did you know…. that someone owned the weddingbee.com domain name and sold it to us for $1500 when he was able to purchase a domain name that he had wanted instead?

So if you’re new to weddingbee, or even if you’ve been reading for a long time, please tell us a little bit about yourself! Tell us your city of residence, your wedding date, and anything else you’d like to share! Oh and of course - welcome to the hive!

Hey there - this site is my daily guilty pleasure =) FI and I have been long distance for 6 years hence the “two cities” part of my SN - we are getting married May 24, 2008 in Northern Va/Wash DC.
I would LOVE to teach anyone that needs a hand about making a powerpoint slideshow for their wedding - with all the special effects and music! =)

We are having a church wedding a hotel reception in southern California where we were both raised. I was never one of those little girls who dreamt about their wedding and at first I didn’t want a small or medium or even large wedding. I just wanted to get married in Hawaii under a waterfall. But fiancee convinced me it would be better as we look back on this to have all our friends a family to share this moment with us. I found weddingbee through google looking for flower hair pins and then I got addicted. I love it, I find inspiration on here everyday, was able to meet another beereader, MissMandy, from here. So welcome other bees, fellow bees, newbees (<— get it..hehe). You’ll love it here.

I just stumbled upon Weddingbee last week and I am totally addicted! This site is entertaining and informative, and I feel so relieved to see that I am not the only wedding planning obssessed bride to be out there!

I was engaged on July 12, 2008 near the banks of the Mississippi River in St. Paul, Minnesota, the great state where I attended college. Both my fiance and I are Michigan natives and we met and first lived together there, before recently relocating to the Seattle area. Boy do we love it here, but are still planning to be married in Saline, Michigan, just outside of Ann Arbor on September 13, 2008. Our ceremony and reception will be in a beautiful garden location, with an outdoor ceremony, dinner inside a historic carriage house, and dancing outside under a fabulous white pavilion.

Thanks for letting me “bee” part of the hive!

Hi, everyone! I love, love, love this site and have been reading it religiously since I stumbled upon it (I can’t even remember where I found it now) a few months ago. I got engaged in August (on my fiance’s birthday–the best surprise ever!). We’re planning a late September (2008) wedding in Annapolis.

Miss History

Hello all bees! I am from the wonderful city of Chicago, well more the suburbs than the city. Our wedding is planned for July 3, 2009, which means tons of time to get ideas and learn DIY projects from all the Miss and Mrs. Bees. I must be honest in saying as a lover of weddings I have been reading weddingbee for a long time, far before my engagement and yet, I still can’t get enough! Oh and the Miss History part comes from the fiance who is getting his master degree in history and loves it so much, while I can’t stand it….oh it must be love!

Hi! I’m Laura and I live in Boston. We’ve been engaged for 1.5 years and are so laid back in all aspects of planning that even though we have told everyone that we’re getting married this summer (and we WILL), we still don’t have a place or date! Anyways, we hope our wedding is more a danceparty than anything else Currently we are considering REVERSING our wedding and honeymoon budgets and just having a cookout for the wedding and then taking off for 6 weeks to europe/south pacific. hmmmm…..lots of thinking to do….not much time!!

Hi my name is Carmella and I am getting married May 23, 2008. We are getting married on Long Beach Island, NJ at a place called Bonnet Island Estate. I grew up a Jersey shore girl so it was always my dream to be married on LBI and now my dream has come true. I quit my job last February so I am a full time domestic goddess/wedding planner. So as you can imagine I have a lot of time on my hands so Thank God for the Weddingbee!!! I am addicted.

Hey, this is cool; I want to play. I’m in Washington State not too far from Seattle, and I found this site through Junebug back in August when I was doing some research on black bridesmaids dresses for a friend (her mom says no way, she says yes and so on). Then I started finding other cool things on here, and before you know it, I was hooked. I didn’t comment for a while because I wasn’t sure that I should since it had been a few years since I was a bride, but then I just had to throw my two cents in on a post and now I’m here everyday. I’ve also recently become a wedding vendor, so it’s fun using both perspectives.

We are having our ceremony at my family’s vineyard/winery in Red Wing (yes, that’s right, wineries exist in Minnesota too!) and then we’re having the reception in the St. James Hotel in historic downtown Red Wing and it overlooks the Mississippi and bluff valleys.
I’m also addicted to this site, thankfully my FI is understanding
My fiance and I met at Iowa State University 6 years ago, but didn’t start dating until about 3 years ago. We’ve been together since and have been engaged for almost half of that 3 years! Now I can finally say I’m getting married THIS year!

I’m Jo and I currently live (and am getting married) in Wellington, New Zealand. I am from the UK originally and met my FI after I’d been here a week! Our wedding date is 22/2/2008 so 3 weeks to go tomorrow - NZ time! I’m dragging him back to the UK after the wedding for a couple of years so the honeymoon probably won’t be until September in Greece. I love weddingbee!

Hi Bees and readers!

I’m Jessie and I live in NYC. My fiance and I met at work (he was my Senior) and we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together 3 months in. Now we are planning our wedding here and having another reception in HK. My FI has been great at helping me plan so far!

I am addicted to Weddingbee and can be found poking around every day. I send my FI interesting blogs that make him laugh. I think he misses Mr. Monkey, as much as I do!
