About Mrs. Hummingbird

As many brides out there know, the internet is a fantastic tool for planning a wedding. Not only are there tonnes of sites to provide ideas and inspiration (like Weddingbee!), but the internet also rocks because it gives us newfangled computer brides vendor options that wouldn’t normally be available to us.

In this respect, etsy is kind of old hat, but thanks to an etsy blog I read, I came across a really cool new development - an etsy wedding dress!

The lovely Minna K (who studied at the Paris Fashion Institute and worked at Amsale Bridal) is currently offering her gorgeous creations on everyone’s favourite crafting site*, along with veils and headpieces!
Check them out!

And top it off with a veil!

Not only is her stuff gorgeous (I totally love the Viola dress for its traditional yet funky feel and the Valenica because I am a sucker for anything blue), but it’s cool to see that the bridal world is branching out and that we have more options than just what we see at our local dress shop. Since this was an unxpected item from a regular source of inspiration, I’m curious - where have you ladies found some of your favourite unexpected items and what have been your favourite sources of inspiration during your planning process?

*For the New York ladies, Minna’s site says that her dresses are also available through Kleinfield’s, so if you like them, but are nervous about blindly ordering, you can go there to try them out.

Etsy Wedding is a great blog…thanks for mentioning it. She’s on vacation right now, but I bet she’ll be tickled pink for the shout out.

Those dresses are gorgeous, I especially love the Valencia. I just checked out her website, and I love that 5% of all proceeds go to Oxfam, that’s one of my favorite organizations!

not quite related but the idea just dawned on me…what about an etsy registry?!

Lauren, that might be difficult since many of the items are made in very small production numbers and might be gone before the giver of the gift gets a chance to see it. Some sort of Etsy gift certificate might work a little bit better?

It’s a great alternative to a traditional wedding dress. Thanks for sharing - Etsy weddings is a great website.
