Invitation Dry Run

February 2nd, 2008 @ 12:23 pm by Mrs. Penguin

I have extra boxes on hand since I ordered boxes in quantity for our wedding invitations, so I decided to use some for the Valentines Card Exchange! I’m glad I made these, because I learned a lot of logistical things for my future invites, like the postage is flat rate per ounce (no matter where it goes in the country), and also that you need TONS of candy for these suckers!

I quilled some hearts with little love quotes on the inside… kind of like fortunes, only, you know, not fortunes. So actually, not like fortunes at all. I gocco’ed a card, gocco’ed the box tops, filled the boxes with Conversation Hearts candy, tied them with twine, and shipped them off. The whole thing is a complete ripoff of Mrs. Gummibear’s invitations. And guess what? My invitations will be too. I laugh in the face of originality.

They’re so cute! I was wondering, where did you get the boxes from? I’ve been looking for boxes like those but can’t seem them anywhere online. Thanks!

P.S. After watching your gocco demo on WeddingBee TV, I put aside my fears of gocco-ing and bought one and totally love it. Double thanks for being my gocco-fear-slayer! =)

Yay! I recieved mine yesterday! I’d like to agree that it looked too cute to eat, but I admit I snuck a few hearts while licking my invitation envelopes. (it helped with that nasty glue taste)! Thanks again!

Miss Penguin says:

Spice: Yes, I wrapped them in kraft paper. I wouldnt send them unwrapped cause the boxes might get wrecked (and you have to tape the boxes closed. Yucky!

alison: Yes use a LASER printer not an inkjet (it will bleed on vellum)

Thanks yous guys! My ego just exploded! Hahaha.
