About Mrs. Lovebug

Seriously, Just Skip This Post.

February 4th, 2008 @ 11:10 am by Mrs. Lovebug

Today I’m serving up a heapin’ helpin’ of WCP, or Weak Content Post. A WCP is easily identifiable by one of more of the following characteristics:

1. It tends to have little in the way of useful material. A WCP doesn’t teach, inform, or otherwise help anyone.
2. It’s likely quite dull. While a WCP may include images or graphics, they’re about as thrilling as a magazine insert.
3. Sardonic commentary is often substituted for clever or amusing anecdotes.
4. It’s usually authored by Miss Lovebug after a weekend of too little sleep.

Below please find a prime example of a WCP.

As far as anticlimaxes go, I’d have to say that picking up our marriage license ranks pretty highly. Nothing like fighting Friday afternoon traffic and fishing parking meter quarters out of the car seat just to spend twenty minutes in this ugly structure:

After being de-belted, de-shod and thoroughly de-buzzed at a security checkpoint (Officer ByTheBook wouldn’t even let me take a commemorative photo of Mr. LB being wanded, the big meanie), we found the marriage license office. While I tried to identify some bloggable aspect of the experience, Mr. LB filled out the appropriate form:

We waited in a nondescript room surrounded by nondescript people feeling rather nondescript ourselves until we noticed that our ticket was Mr. LB’s lucky number!

Take that, 50% divorce rate!

The clerk called us, we raised our right hands and swore that we weren’t related (insert immature giggle). We were then informed that information about STDs is available at the county health office (more immature giggles), and sent on our way with our documentation.

And in true WCP spirit, here are some shots of “Brideway” Boulevard storefronts that I snapped in front of Mr. LB’s face while we drove home. If that’s you in the convertible, apologies for using your likeness sans permission. Nice wheelz.

note: WCPs typically end abruptly and with no thought-provoking questions.

Maybe I’m an EAR (easily amused reader), because that cracked me up. I think it was your use of “wheelz” with a “z” that really took me over the edge. :)

Hey now, both pictures of said ‘nondescript’ room have the oh-so-popular modern color scheme of blue and orange… Seriously you must have skills to incorporate the subtle orange detail in both pictures

Since your post is WCP, then I feel like I have a right to ask a question completely off topic.
My FH and I are planning a mini moon to Tucson and I was wondering if there were any “don’t miss” places in the area. His mom has a second home there so we thought we would take advantage of that for a quick trip (4 days) since I have not been there before.
Any tips??

Miss History

I enjoyed the post. More importantly it helped me realize how immersed I am in the wedding phenomenon as I read your line, “We were then informed that information about STDs is available at the county health office” only to ponder over why the county health office would have information about Save-the-Dates….I reread to realize that in this case an STD, is simply an STD. I know I am a dork!

You can tell I’m a bride because when I first read STD’s, I thought of save-the-dates instead of sexually transmitted diseases!
