About Mrs. Sundae

Hello Out There…

February 6th, 2008 @ 11:40 am by Mrs. Sundae

I am Miss Sundae! I’ve been a loyal Weddingbee reader since my friend (and now bridesmaid) passed along the addiction while planning her own wedding, and I am excited and honored to be a part of the hive.

Mr. Sundae and I met in college and have been in each other’s lives ever since. There have been ups and downs, break-ups, long distances, and a lot of growing up but we made it to the other side. We’ve been sharing a condo in the city for the past two years with our dog Lola (if raising a dog is any indication one’s parenting skills, it’s possible we should reconsider children).

Mr. S popped the question on July 20th with candlelight and champagne on the balcony of our condo. He got down on one knee and said some of the most wonderful things I’ve ever heard, most of which I immediately forgot in all the excitement and commotion. The set-up:

(He’ll kill me for this, but I need to draw your attention to the “tablecloth.” At the last minute Mr. S decided that he should use one to cover our little mosaic table, and all he came up with was a pillowcase.)

And here is the second love of my life, the ring:

Despite our love for Chicago we’re getting married in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Mr. Sundae’s parents have a condo there and we’ve spent many happy summers together at the lake. We’re planning an outdoor ceremony and a tented reception at a local resort, but more on that later.

I love all the little details that go into making a wedding special but I can be a little over zealous in my attempts to make everything perfect. Here’s hoping my trials and tribulations will inspire you, or at the very least entertain. Thanks for having me!

Which neighborhood do you live in?

Rings like that make me wonder why us gals only get one engagement ring. Personally, I’d like a collection. It just doesn’t seem fair. Congrats!

I know your venue very well; I used to assit a wedding planner for fun part-time and did two weddings @ The Abbey. It is beautiful!!

Thanks everyone! The pillowcase has become quite the joke in our house…it will never cease to amaze me that he lives there and knows where nothing is. I’ve had that ring for 6 months now and still stare at it :)

Love the ring! But then again, I might be a little partial since my ring is very similar to it– tiffany legacy =] sigh… not a day goes by that I don’t glance at my finger and [still] drool.

Good luck on your planning… hope your day is everything and more than you’ve ever dreamed of!

Yeah! Another Chicagoan! Welcome!

Since I was raised in Chicago and moved back after college, and then planned my wedding, I love to hear all about the fellow Chicago brides–I just wish that I had found WB earlier in my own planning.

Good luck and can’t wait to hear all about your planning.

Love LG (and the Abbey!)–great choice!
