Mrs. Radish's Picture
Mrs. Radish, Chicago/Syracuse Age and Occupation: 27, Executive Assistant/Journalism Student/Musician Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Anthropologist/Musician Engagement Date: December 20, 2005 Wedding Date: August 18, 2007 Blogging Since: June 26, 2007 Venue: The Wellington House in Fayetteville, NY About Me: Mr. Radish and I are both from upstate New York, so we are planning a wedding in Syracuse from about 700 miles away. When I’m not obsessing about our wedding I play the cello in my band (which Mr. Radish is in too), read as much as I can, sleep even more, travel whenever possible, and try to find time to have fun with my friends. I’m also working on finishing up my journalism degree with a concentration in environmental reporting and I’m the VP of my campus Amnesty International chapter… so I’m a pretty busy bee.

I absolutely LOVE this picture of my little brother. He is 16 years younger than me but we are very close and he’s always had a very special place in my heart. When he was little he used to say that he wanted to marry me when he grew up! But don’t worry, he now understands the whole you-can’t-marry-your-siblings thing ;)

The first reading, courtesy of Mr. Radish’s childhood best friend.
Profess033

We spent a lot of time on our knees!
Profess034

Another amazing picture! I don’t know how our photographer even got some of these shots. I don’t recall seeing him around us that much and he’s not really visible in any of the non-pro pictures or our video. He was very unobtrusive!
Profess035

We look so tiny!
Profess036

Another great moment captured on film. Or, actually, captured in pixels. Profess037

Our second reader, Mr. Radish’s cousin.

I ended up switching my original hair idea to a more simple, curly ponytail. I just wanted something that I would feel comfortable in and that I wouldn’t have to worry about too much throughout the day. I was really happy with the way it came out and I like the way it looked under the veil.

My handsome little nephew sitting on the altar. There weren’t enough chairs up there for all of the little boys (we had 5 of them!) so the priest had the little dudes sit on the step of the altar in front of the groomsmen’s chairs.
Profess039

The altar. We totally skipped out on any flower arrangements for the church since it was already so decorative and colorful. I’m glad we did because they really weren’t needed.
Profess040

Mr. Radish’s parents
Profess041

My mom and step-dad… looking rather thoughtful and introspective or, more possibly, bored.
Profess042

Mr. Radish’s beautiful niece. She is so photogenic!
Profess043

A very artful shot of our the groomsmen’s
Profess044

Exchanging the sign of peace with the priest.
Profess045

My sister/maid of honor and I doing the whole “peace be with you” thing. She looks like she’s about to cry for some reason. She’s very emotional!
Profess046

My older sister looking on.
Profess047

Lighting the unity candle with our moms.
Profess048

We just used the church’s candles because I didn’t feel like buying our own. I guess that saved us a few bucks. Edited09

My mom looks super cute in this picture.
Edited010

I think my photographer must have snapped this one while I was walking back from lighting the unity candle. I look really serious. I was probably concentrating really hard on not tripping on my dress! Profess049

Stay tuned for the thrilling conclusion of our wedding ceremony!

Lovely!!! Were your husband, groomsmen, and “little guys” wearing brown tuxes, suits? Or is that just my screen? I’ve been looking at some and trying to decide on them. The main problem has been finding them in “little guy” sizes.

griffen - nope, it must be your screen or the lighting. The tuxes were black with pinstripes.

Such great pics. And now we can see how really HUGE that church is— no wonder your walk down the aisle seemed so long!

I cannot get over how cute the kids were in your wedding. Are you sure you didn’t rent them from somewhere? ;)

Also, I love the pictures of your sisters watching you.
