Minor Buyer’s Remorse

As you have seen, I am pretty far ahead on random things. I thought I would get sick of DIY projects or run out of time, so I wanted to get them done ahead of time. Also, I bought most of the supplies for pretty much everything back in December, when I got an extra-good discount from Paper Source as a holiday gift. As a result, I had to make some decisions really early. I have no problem with any of the decisions I made… except for the decision about the programs. I decided on an A7 backing in three colors. Then I’ll close them with white satin ribbon:

I don’t know why, but I just don’t like them at ALL anymore. Originally I was planning on a layered style, but now I really don’t like that anymore (mostly because I don’t like the idea of having to cut all of those sheets, and I’m thinking we’ll probably have many sheets, what with the explanations of Jewish AND Chinese traditions). I don’t know why… they just bother me. I guess I don’t like the way they look anymore, either. This is more or less what they’d look like, only more short and stout (from knottie proud_bride):

What I think I would really like is a little booklet. And I’m really wild about the trend of sewing the edges–super cute! Check out this one, from the Knot Real Wedding of Kathy & Shane in Chicago, IL:

I love how simple they are, and how people can clearly tell how many pages are in it. Plus, there’s minimal cutting. I wouldn’t have to hand-sew the whole thing… I could probably use a sewing machine. Yes, yes, this is sounding more appealing by the minute.I think I may be making some returns to Paper Source!

I would be interested in taking the pink and green backings off your hands if needed!

Hey Creampuff,
Great idea. Maybe you can also find a way to reduce the number of sheets you will have. I don’t know how many layers you will be able to sew all together. It might not go through or break the needles often on the sewing machine.

Just a note…i’ve sewn paper before. BE CAREFUL (and go super slow). It’s actually not as easy as you might hope.

You could still use the backers and turn them sideways with a pretty patterned cover in heavier stock. This way they are more of a long booklet and you can get 2 columns of info on each page. No cutting of the papers to length!
