Consider Me Shod

February 18th, 2008 @ 2:29 pm by Mrs. Lovebug

If I wanted to, I could keep shopping for the perfect shoes up until the night before the wedding. I could continue my daily Zappos and Bluefly stalking, convincing myself that it exists - the ideal silver (but not metallic!), platform (but still delicate!), beaded (but not rhinestone-y!) pair of designer heels exists, waiting for my patient and dedicated glance to fall upon them.

Or I could just say eff it, I’ve got other things to worry about, and these are plenty lovely anyway:

They complement the beading of my dress…

…they’re comfortable, and they were relatively cheap. Done and done. And speaking of my dress, here are a couple of better (as in, not self-taken in crappy light) shots of it:

Note: that is not my miniature fur llama. But if you’re a miniature fur llama collector and just HAVE to have it, I can ask my FMIL for her miniature fur llama source.

I TOTALLY LOVE your dress!
Where did you get it?

(you may have mentioned this in a previous post and I just completely missed it)

Love the shoes! They’re perfect! No worries about needing to find something more perfect - you have them already, they’re great, quoting you, “Done!”

Besides, only you are taking special notice of your feet. Sure, your photographer might get a couple cool shots, even one album-worthy, but those shoes would make any album that much happier.

Personally, I think the llama should be the bouncer at the wedding. :)

i can totally relate - i have been visiting about 10 different website daily, looking for the perfect shoe, and i’m getting married in april also. no one ever warned me that i should buy wedding shoes in the spring/summer, when people are actually selling strappy sandals! well, after an intense, prolonged shopping expedition, i finally found my perfect pair - silver strappy rene cavilla sandals at loehmann’s - so in the end it was all worth it! i would encourage you to fight the good fight and continue your diligent shopping, but i have to tell you that those shoes look really beautiful esp next to your dress! and that dress fits you beautifully!

I love the color of your dress. And that sly little look over your shoulder that you are giving to the camera in that first picture.

Caterpillar, my guess is that the llama might have just GROWN those horns when he saw LB in that dress. Hubba hubba!

omg, I love coming home to a slew of hilarious comments. You guys are collective awesomeness.

padiserene: Gracias! I got it at a trunk show at Destiny’s Bride in Scottsdale - it’s Monique Lhuillier (”Camilla”), Spring 2006.

Re: llama horns. I didn’t even notice that? Does that make it not a llama? Maybe a goat-llama hybrid? The ggama?

Thanks for the confirmation on shutting down the shoe shopping train. Glad to be finito wit zat.

lol @ “butt poofage” and Penguin - I will gladly trade lives with you for a day. My you self can bust out cool DIY for 24 hours straight.
