Make Some Noise - For The Smooch

February 21st, 2008 @ 12:16 pm by Mrs. Flamingo

In the past, “tinking” of the champagne glass was the classic way to make the newlyweds share a huge and passionate smooch. Apart from the fact that the majority of venues no longer allow this tradition (more because of over exaggeration and lots and lots of broken stemware) new ideas have emerged.

Make Some Noise - For The Smooch : wedding montreal NoisemaI’m looking for a unique way make some noise. Maybe something vintage - just don’t know what that could be. There’s always the classic clap your hands and stomp your feet or the very popular silver bell.

What is your noise maker?

i think mrs. caterpillar or her mil had made shakers that looked really cool. i also liked an idea i saw from mrs. pumpkin about having people sing a portion of a song with either love or kiss in the lyrics.

i went to a wedding where your table had to sing song lyrics containing the word “love”… it was actually really fun!

I made people write haikus.

It quickly dissolved into trash-talking (first between the two “party tables,” then between the older generation of the groom’s family and his cousins), but it was hilarious. One I remember off the top of my head was

Rose petals unfold
Love is declared among friends
A kiss would be nice

my cousin brought two hoola hoops and required guests that wanted them to kiss to hoop it up! It got crazy at the end of the night, with two of the groomsmen getting into the same hoop and partaking in some rather hilarious gestures.

We’re doing the good old fashioned bells… putting them on tables with a note attached to say “ring the bell to wish the newlyweds wedded bliss with a kiss”
