Charmed, I’m Sure

February 25th, 2008 @ 8:33 am by Mrs. Magnolia

When I started thinking about my bridesmaids and the things that I wanted to give to them on our wedding day, of course I took into account my experiences as a bridesmaid in the past. What would I change about being a bridesmaid, if I could? I did come up with one very small idea that was a huge hit with them… and this is the detail that I’ve received the most compliments on since getting our pictures back.

Having been a bridesmaid three times, the thing that drives me up the wall is getting to the reception, putting down my bouquet by the cake, and not knowing which one is mine at the end of the night. Call me anal, or even overly sentimental, but when a bride hands me a bouquet, that’s the one that I want to stick with for the rest of the day/evening. It’s the one I want to take home with me and put in a cylinder to display for the next week or so.

I’ve seen brides put rhinestone initial charms on their bouquets as well as those of their bridesmaids, but that’s not the route I decided to take. Instead, I found etsy seller oliviamoon, who just happens to be based out of my hometown of Greenville, SC! I purchased several of her initial charms, printed on light blue and white paper in various fonts. Not only were they absolutely beautiful, but the back featured a mirror… perfect for a last-minute lipstick check before you walk down the aisle!

Ready to be tied to our bouquets:

They really looked beautiful, and they definitely added something to the bouquets!

(My bouquet featured two charms… J and T, for my married initials.)

I would definitely highly recommend oliviamoon’s charms. She responded very quickly to my request for custom charms, happily created exactly what I asked for, and had the order to me within days!

Oh wow Mrs.Magnolia… I love that idea. Don’t worry your not the only one. I hate it too when someone else takes your bouquet… and you look weird trying to prove it.

THis is a great idea. I love it…. would you mind if I borrowed the idea from you? Great photos by the way!

Such a fantastic idea, if I had more than two bridesmaids I would absolutely use something like that! And you’re definitely not the only one, I once put a napkin over my bouquet to make sure that no one else took it.

Oh this is a FABULOUS idea, the last wedding I was in my bouquet was missing by the end of the night and I was so bummed out. I may steal this idea as well…

She also has so many other cute charms, I wonder if you could find an individual picture for each one. For example, my sister is a children’s lit author so something with a book or pen would be appropriate.. Hmm the wheels are turning!

Flamingo, I had two bridesmaids that were “S” - oliviamoon did their charms in different fonts, one print and one script! It was perfect!

i was the same with my with bouquet when i was a bm…luckily for one of them we were able to sit wherever we pleased so we were able to keep an eye on our bouquets.

but i really like these charms a lot better than the rhinestone ones. i’ll have to bookmark the seller! thanks!
