Keeping Things Organized

February 27th, 2008 @ 5:05 pm by Ms. Dahlia

I need to share with you one of the most amazing organizational tools. Seriously. Shared by some of the awesome women over at Indiebride, it is by far the most comprehensive wedding planning spreadsheet I have seen, complete with formulas to help you calculate total costs and the number of people each person (bride, groom, parents) is inviting. Here are just some of the features:

Keeping Things Organized : wedding organization templates Budget
Budget- it sure helps to keep track of the costs (and when more payments are due) in one spot.

Keeping Things Organized : wedding organization templates Floorp
Floorplan- to help figure out where everyone will sit.

Keeping Things Organized : wedding organization templates Guestl
Guest list- everyone’s addresses, all in one place.

Other features include a sheet for florist information, a gift tracker, to do list, a savings tracker and a seating chart. I’ve found it really helpful to have everything located in one file- and it makes backing things up that much easier. This, combined with Miss Daffodil’s Wedding Workplan, have been the two tools most frequently used for keeping things organized.

For those of you interested in this, you can download a copy below. (And anyone else want to share their organization tips?)

I use http://www.weddingwire.com

It has all those features and more plus its all online so you can edit from anywhere.

You can even create a wedding website with an rsvp feature that is linked to your guest list.

This site is the only tool I’ve used to plan my wedding and I LOVE it.

Oh and you can export your guest list so you can print it out or email…

You just saved me! Thank you for this. It’s lovely and Mr. M will just die when he sees it. He’s a huge fan of Excel. Heh.

Thank you, Miss Dahila!

YAY! I nearly blushed seeing the screenshots of the Wedding Tracker that I used =) I got it from Woodchip on IndieBride and added the cool floorplan and some other stuff to it (in mine, I have decorating schemes for the wedding and reception that my family used to help with set-up, etc).

I truly wouldn’t have been able to handle my wedding without it! How fun to see something I used every day during my wedding saga it spread to one of my favourite blog stops!

@pooks75 You don’t have to buy excel to open excel documents. there are freeware softwares out there that can do it. For example, I have a MAC, and when the newest Word Suite came out, I could no longer open stuff, because it all became pptx, exlx, etc. and my Office 2004 can’t do it. I found openoffice.org it’s a free program and I can now open these microsoft files! CNET and ZDNET are good sources for free software– both downloads and reviews.

on another note, My computer keeps telling me that there is not enough memory to display this whole spreadsheet. That is strange to me, since this was made several years ago and I have a three year old computer to which I added RAM when I bought it. Anyone else having this happen?
