Calligraphy Deets

February 28th, 2008 @ 9:34 am by Mrs. Lovebug

When I blogged about our invitations, I mentioned that our printer had the idea of having the calligraphy done in mimicry of the font we used. But until I looked closer, I had no idea just how perfectly she managed this. I just thought we had spectacularly pretty calligraphy:

But then, out of curiousity, I wrote up a few names in the font and placed them next to Brigitte’s calligraphy to compare:

Um, is that INSANE or what?! Could she have copied that font more perfectly?! I am humbled, truly. They are just so lovely. I hate to let them go. I especially love how some of the nicknames we used on the inner envelopes for our close friends came out:

And no, we aren’t having any statesmen at our wedding. This is an in-joke with one of my best friends - who happens to be an old ex-boyfriend. He always joked that if he were to attend my wedding someday, to another man, he’d have to be treated as royalty if he were to survive the experience. I couldn’t resist.

I wish I could hold on to these and just gaze at them for a few more days!

*dies* The “His Excellency” is classic. Pure gold!

They are truly remarkable. I’m using the Feel Script, too and I can’t believe how accurate she got the “T”s!

Beautiful!

Dang, she’s good. And truth be told…I like hers better. The spacing is easier to read. Nice choice!

I know, right? She’s unbelievable. But I have a feeling that after years of practicing, I STILL couldn’t write like this.

I just spoke to Tara from Ephemera - and I don’t know if it was this post, or your post about the receipt of your invitations - but she said that “Miss Lovebug’s post on Weddingbee certainly didn’t help” her very busy schedule. I think you might have single-handedly doubled Tara’s business. Ain’t nothin like free press!
