M Is For Monogram

February 29th, 2008 @ 12:55 pm by Mrs. Toucan

After attempting to make my own monograms in PowerPoint, I decided to ask my cousin for some help. You see, the monograms I had made for myself were fine and all, but I really wanted to use something that reflected a little more personality. I had all these ideas on how to I wanted my ideal monogram to look like, but I didn’t have a clue on how to execute them. My cousin, who is finishing up her college degree in fine arts and computer science, was the perfect person to ask for some help! Check it out:

Look familiar? This is the monogram I chose to put on our favors! I asked my cousin to try to incorporate Mr. Toucan’s and my nicknames for each other (he calls me “Monkey,” and I call him “Bear”), and I think she definitely incorporated both wonderfully! Here are a couple of her other designs that had to chose from:

How have you personalized your monogram/stationery? Do you plan on continuing to use your monogram even after the wedding?

I love them. Would she be willing to do a little side work?

The only way my dad could remember my fiance’s name was by calling us G&S, so we used that on everything (even the cake). We got a (CHEAP) little rubber stamp of it, and throw it everywhere. Signing Christmas cards has never been so easy!

I would also be interested in hiring her to help me with my peacock themed graphics if she’s available!

May I ask what font she used on the three you didn’t choose? I like it a lot!

so personal & cute! Can you tell me what the difference is between the 2nd & 4th ones though? My eyes aren’t catching it. Are the T & C more bold?

I love it.. I wish we had a monogram too. I love the one you chose but I also love the first one that you didn’t go with.

Thanks ladies! :)

For those of you looking for help with your monograms, I don’t know what to tell you yet. My cousin is still in college, so I’m not sure if she’d be interested in any work yet. I’m not even sure if she’s interested in doing wedding work - she only made these as a favor for me. I’ll ask her and see what she thinks…

If you are in a rush though, I’m sure you can contact a graphics designer to help you out. Hope that helps! :)

so you know

FYI….MONOGRAM…is 1 or more name INITIALS…not whole names…what you have is a “signature” or better yet…a LOGO!

;)

cute!
