I’ve said before that making my wedding invitations nearly killed me. The pain was truly awful. So awful it felt good. So good that when it finally came time to make invitations for my cousin’s bridal shower, I couldn’t wait to subject myself to the pain again. Thankfully this time, I only needed to make 20 (as opposed to the 120 multi-piece invitations I made for my wedding).
The theme of the shower is pretty simple: Pink and Fun.
I created this simple design using Adobe Illustrator. You would think that a bunch of circles in varying shades of pink and purple wouldn’t take too long but I went to a bad place with trying to “perfect” the size and spatial relationship of each circle. In the end, I can honestly say that I love all my circles equally. I printed four 5.5″ x 4.25″ cards to each piece of white cardstock, cut them and then rounded all the corners.
Next I busted out the bling and carefully glued one onto each card. I had to hardcore resist the urge to glue a million crystals onto each card. Bling is addicting man.
Then I cut 6″ x 4.5″ pink cardstock backing layers and punched a tear drop hole in each.
Finally, I glued pink ribbon onto the white cardstock and then looped it through the tear drop hole before gluing down the entire card to the pink back. I tied the ribbon into a simple loop in the back and just let the ends hang. I forgot to take a photo but the invites were stuffed into matching pink envelopes.
Next up, how paper roses take over my life.
The invitation looks so beautiful. You had to cut round corners? That is something that I won’t be able to do. I don’t have patient sitting there cutting round corners. I just rather get them in a pack. Over all the invitation look awesome. I just want to lick those circles.
