I confess. There are a few things about my wedding that I haven’t blogged about. Here’s a biggie: my bachelorette party. If this doesn’t pique your interest, I don’t know what will:
Check out the great styles and prices here!

I’ve said before that making my wedding invitations nearly killed me. The pain was truly awful. So awful it felt good. So good that when it finally came time to make invitations for my cousin’s bridal shower, I couldn’t wait to subject myself to the pain again. Thankfully this time, I only needed to make 20 (as opposed to the 120 multi-piece invitations I made for my wedding).
The theme of the shower is pretty simple: Pink and Fun.
Our first wedding gift rolled in a couple weeks ago! Four months early, wowwie! I think I’ll always remember these Salt and Pepper mills as “our first gift.” Were making memories here, people!

Cole and Mason Tower Mills, Williams Sonoma
I hadn’t even started to think about Thank You cards… I was going to take care of that after the wedding. But with the shower coming up, I realize that more than one set of Thank You cards may be in order. I’ve never been one to notice exactly when we’ve received Thank You’s from weddings/showers I’ve attended, but now that the tables are turned, I want to make sure I make an adequate attempt at “doing the right thing…” even though I’m not exactly sure what that means.

I’ve been spending some time looking for ceremony readings lately. I’ve found some beautiful pieces, but it seemed like there was something missing. I didn’t know what it was, really. I just knew there was something I wanted to express to Mr. LB, but couldn’t find captured anywhere. So I sat down and wrote it myself.
To frame it, all you have to know (and that which you might know already) is that I’m a big, wordy, too-well-read-for-her-own-good geek, who sometimes can unintentionally come off uppity about her educational background. That, and the subject of romance - and romantic gestures - is one of some sensitivity between us. As in, every so often I become convinced that Mr. Lovebug isn’t being enough of a knight in shining armor and needs to take Wooing 101. Sometimes I’m right about this…and sometimes I’m wrong. Funny how that works.
I want Mr. Lovebug to know, though, that he shows me his love in the every day domesticity of our life together. That while I sometimes give him a hard time about not being the guy that springs opera tickets and champagne while on a sunset hot air balloon ride, at the end of the day, I know he treasures me. The little things, you know? And I wanted something that captures OUR little things, specifically.

After we finished our family and wedding party photos we headed to the church and waited for the ceremony to begin!
As the wedding party was gathering in the entry way of the church, I stood by the door and had one last moment to myself to take it all in. I love this photo as you can see my flower girl on the left — she was so cute all day and just wanted to be with me. I didn’t even know she was standing there until I saw this photo.

Last night, I had a dream that I gave birth to a baby with an abnormally large head. The baby was t
alking like an adult (I recall telling the baby, “you’re very eloquent!”) and was very dirty. Mr. Cream Puff was talking to someone near me, and I recall thinking to myself, “Oh my god, this is not normal. It’s not normal for a baby to be talking, or that it has such a large head, or that it’s so dirty.” I didn’t know which problem to address first. I started to get really worried about it and kept thinking I should ask Mr. Cream Puff for help, but instead I just sat there, silently freaking out and talking to the baby.
That giant-headed, eloquent baby is SOOO my wedding.
Tons of pink & green and general Monopoly stuff has thrown up over every surface of the Petunia home. Because there isn’t just one of any thing, of course: there were 10+ gifts that required wrapping , 30-something Monopoly houses to be spray-painted (and that’s only half of them), more than one hundred favor envelopes and tokens to prepare, etc.:
I’ve had my favors bought since our trip to Hong Kong in December/January, and I’m finally ready to share them with you! I started with this idea:
Martha Stewart Weddings Spring ‘o7
I was first introduced to blooming teas through Weddingbee Contests, which linked back to one of Mrs. Violet’s posts. Since our reception is a Chinese Banquet, I wanted our favors to match the theme. Drinking tea is strongly embedded in Chinese culture, as it can be used as a sign of respect or gratitude. So this idea worked perfectly!
… and I do mean that with the biggest

Mr. CB and I really are that busy that we do not have time to go to the stores to register in person for anything. He didn’t really understand the purpose of a registry at first either, or the need to put on a variety of items that people could choose from. He thought we could put just the few things we truly only wanted (even if it was like 3 or 4 items) then at least we would be able to get the things we really really needed. Doesn’t work that way honey! Who knows if anyone would even look there, or even decide to purchase from there? And even if they did, you have to list many different things to give them options. Since we had no time to enjoy the in-store experience with the gun, I did everything myself …. online.
What could we really need he said? Well tons! My online registering started off with a few simple items, topping it at 5. I ran out of things I thought we really needed: pots, pans, knives, flatware, mixer, and toaster oven. I went blank. Cohabitating for the first time, we have nothing to bring to our empty new place, so we needed EVERYTHING. As each day goes, I start to think of little things to add here and there and check in whenever I remember to.

When we decided to have a destination wedding, one of the decisions we had to make was whether or not to get legally married in Mexico.
Wedding planning often challenges us to undertake projects we’ve never tried. Whatever their past career experience, engaged couples suddenly find themselves acting as event planners, stylists, graphic artists, personal shoppers, and many other things all rolled into one. Sometimes, taking on these new projects leads us to discover latent talents we never knew we had.
And other times? Well….
Meet our wedding invitations!

Some of you may recall that my fabulous, amazing, beautiful mother has been planning a wedding of her own recently. After having an icky cold that had me out of commission for a few days last week, I was glad to be feeling better for her big day this past Sunday!
To say that the day was wonderful would be an understatement. Forty-three guests gathered to celebrate the love of these two amazing people at Simon Pearce in West Chester, PA, the place they first met. My mom and George wrote their entire ceremony, and there truly was not a dry eye in the room. Every time I looked at Mr. Cupcake, he was looking up at the ceiling to keep from crying
