Mrs. Lovebug, TucsonAge and Occupation in 06: 31, WriterFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Professional Game Show ContestantEngagement Date: February 18, 2007 Wedding Date: April 19, 2008Venue: Historic InnAbout Me: Likes: blogging, wikis, semi-colons, cuddling, fragrant flowers, syntax, and spooning. Dislikes: typos, dangling modifiers, flypaper, citronella candles, and run-ons. If I had my druthers, I'd exchange simple vows in a candlelit library. But I lost my druthers long ago...anyone seen them?
I’ve been spending some time looking for ceremony readings lately. I’ve found some beautiful pieces, but it seemed like there was something missing. I didn’t know what it was, really. I just knew there was something I wanted to express to Mr. LB, but couldn’t find captured anywhere. So I sat down and wrote it myself.
To frame it, all you have to know (and that which you might know already) is that I’m a big, wordy, too-well-read-for-her-own-good geek, who sometimes can unintentionally come off uppity about her educational background. That, and the subject of romance - and romantic gestures - is one of some sensitivity between us. As in, every so often I become convinced that Mr. Lovebug isn’t being enough of a knight in shining armor and needs to take Wooing 101. Sometimes I’m right about this…and sometimes I’m wrong. Funny how that works.
I want Mr. Lovebug to know, though, that he shows me his love in the every day domesticity of our life together. That while I sometimes give him a hard time about not being the guy that springs opera tickets and champagne while on a sunset hot air balloon ride, at the end of the day, I know he treasures me. The little things, you know? And I wanted something that captures OUR little things, specifically. Read more…

I'm a PR and Marketing Director for a major jazz festival and camp by day, and by night, a romantic jazz singer and bride-to-be! I hope all my research can help other brides in their planning.
As the wedding party was gathering in the entry way of the church, I stood by the door and had one last moment to myself to take it all in. I love this photo as you can see my flower girl on the left — she was so cute all day and just wanted to be with me. I didn’t even know she was standing there until I saw this photo. Read more…
Mrs. Milkshake, Seattle/Vancouver, BCAge and Occupation: 23, PharmacistFiance's Age and Occupation: 25, PharmacistEngagement Date: May 2007Wedding Date: August 2008Blogging Since: December 6, 2007Venue: Victorian MansionAbout Me: Despite the fact that I’ve invested many long years of my life studying the sciences in college, I’m glad to be out of there and I would never do it again! I’m super artsy at heart - I run an indie craft site, I grew up shooting and developing my own film, doing jazz and ballet, and the whole gamut of art classes. I’ve been called a Jane of all Trades… but I was also told many years ago not to make my passion my career because it’d suck the fun out of it. Hence my choice of day job. We live in Seattle but are having our wedding in Canada to be fair to all our family and friends.
Mrs. Cream Puff, San Francisco Bay AreaAge and Occupation: 25, IllustratorFiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Merchandise PlannerEngagement Date: May 27, 2007Wedding Date: August, 2008Blogging Since: February 7, 2008Venue: Ceremony at Crissy Field and Reception at the Green RoomAbout Me: I never dreamed about my wedding as a little girl because I was too busy playing in the mud or pretending to be Martha Stewart–but now that it's here, I'm having a fabulous time DIYing everything in sight! We’re planning a very fun multicultural wedding (I'm Jewish and Mr. Cream Puff is Chinese), filled with as many personal details as I can muster.
Last night, I had a dream that I gave birth to a baby with an abnormally large head. The baby was talking like an adult (I recall telling the baby, “you’re very eloquent!”) and was very dirty. Mr. Cream Puff was talking to someone near me, and I recall thinking to myself, “Oh my god, this is not normal. It’s not normal for a baby to be talking, or that it has such a large head, or that it’s so dirty.” I didn’t know which problem to address first. I started to get really worried about it and kept thinking I should ask Mr. Cream Puff for help, but instead I just sat there, silently freaking out and talking to the baby.
That giant-headed, eloquent baby is SOOO my wedding.
Mrs. Petunia, Ft. Mr. Petunia and I are obsessed with all things World of Warcraft, Monopoly, and Nintendo, so we’re planning on including some fun “game-y” details into our wedding.
Tons of pink & green and general Monopoly stuff has thrown up over every surface of the Petunia home. Because there isn’t just one of any thing, of course: there were 10+ gifts that required wrapping , 30-something Monopoly houses to be spray-painted (and that’s only half of them), more than one hundred favor envelopes and tokens to prepare, etc.:

On one side, I’m a girly girl. I read countless bridal and fashion magazines, and have an obsession with keeping up with the latest Hollywood gossip. On the other side, I’m a sports fanatic. Despite being a full-time bride-to be, full-time research assistant, and part-time student, I’m also a full-time Red Sox fan from spring training to October, and a full-time Patriots fan from mini-camp to February. I devote almost as much time researching my for fantasy football team as researching for our wedding!
I’ve had my favors bought since our trip to Hong Kong in December/January, and I’m finally ready to share them with you! I started with this idea:
Martha Stewart Weddings Spring ‘o7
I was first introduced to blooming teas through Weddingbee Contests, which linked back to one of Mrs. Violet’s posts. Since our reception is a Chinese Banquet, I wanted our favors to match the theme. Drinking tea is strongly embedded in Chinese culture, as it can be used as a sign of respect or gratitude. So this idea worked perfectly!

I am a lovah of all things wedding, creative, crafty, and definitely DIY bc I love to add a personal touch to everything I gift or make. In my free time, I like to bake, spend time with our family, friends, and my doggies, read my guilty pleasure celebrity gossip and catch up on TV shows.
Mr. CB and I really are that busy that we do not have time to go to the stores to register in person for anything. He didn’t really understand the purpose of a registry at first either, or the need to put on a variety of items that people could choose from. He thought we could put just the few things we truly only wanted (even if it was like 3 or 4 items) then at least we would be able to get the things we really really needed. Doesn’t work that way honey! Who knows if anyone would even look there, or even decide to purchase from there? And even if they did, you have to list many different things to give them options. Since we had no time to enjoy the in-store experience with the gun, I did everything myself …. online.
What could we really need he said? Well tons! My online registering started off with a few simple items, topping it at 5. I ran out of things I thought we really needed: pots, pans, knives, flatware, mixer, and toaster oven. I went blank. Cohabitating for the first time, we have nothing to bring to our empty new place, so we needed EVERYTHING. As each day goes, I start to think of little things to add here and there and check in whenever I remember to. Read more…

So now we just have to make it through the craziness of the wedding and the moving in together! I love crafts, sewing, jewelry making, and photography, so am looking forward to this chance for DIY fun. When not wedding planning, I'm playing with our dog and 4 cats, Ebay shopping, or watching too much TV (often simultaneously!).
Wedding planning often challenges us to undertake projects we’ve never tried. Whatever their past career experience, engaged couples suddenly find themselves acting as event planners, stylists, graphic artists, personal shoppers, and many other things all rolled into one. Sometimes, taking on these new projects leads us to discover latent talents we never knew we had.
Mrs. Cupcake, PhiladelphiaAge and Occupation: 27, Graphic DesignerFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Construction Project ManagerEngagement Date: February 10, 2007Wedding Date: September, 2008Blogging Since: December 7, 2007Venue: The Desmond Hotel in Malvern, PAAbout Me: Mr. Cupcake and I hit it off at a Halloween party and immediately began a long-distance relationship. After two years, he moved to my neck of the woods, and a year and a half after that, he proposed at the “place we fell in love.” I am a true perfectionist who enjoys designing and creating more work for myself, so wedding planning is my perfect outlet. Mr. Cupcake and I are both old souls, and we hope to weave that aspect of our personalities into our wedding day.
Some of you may recall that my fabulous, amazing, beautiful mother has been planning a wedding of her own recently. After having an icky cold that had me out of commission for a few days last week, I was glad to be feeling better for her big day this past Sunday!
To say that the day was wonderful would be an understatement. Forty-three guests gathered to celebrate the love of these two amazing people at Simon Pearce in West Chester, PA, the place they first met. My mom and George wrote their entire ceremony, and there truly was not a dry eye in the room. Every time I looked at Mr. Cupcake, he was looking up at the ceiling to keep from crying (My sensitive man!)
