About Mrs. Tiramisu

Hello From The New Miss Tiramisu!

March 4th, 2008 @ 11:28 am by Mrs. Tiramisu

Hi everyone!

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to be a bee! I’ve been grinning ever since I heard from Mrs. Bee yesterday morning. So why tiramisu? Well first of all let me say that I’m thrilled to be in the “dessert generation” of bees. I could have just been Miss Dessert and covered them all, but I do love me some tiramisu. It literally translates to “pick me up”, and so I’m going to do my best to be one peppy little bee for you all (are you glad I said that and didn’t go with the Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman version of “pick me up”?).

Mr. Tiramisu and I are planning a July wedding in my home state of Maine, from his home state of Maryland, which I call home now too (got that?). It was important to us both to have an oceanfront venue, and as you’ll see in one of my upcoming posts about the search, what that ended up meaning is basically us renting a lawn and building our wedding from the ground up! We’re now determined to make it as unique and “us” as possible. I’m excited to share it all with you, from all of the researching and decision making, to the details and crafting. It isn’t always pretty when I attempt a project, but I guess that’s half of the fun!

I’ll leave you now with a little taste of what a cheeseball I am, and how dedicated I am to weddingbee… Mr. Tiramisu took me out to dinner tonight to celebrate my bee-hood, and I couldn’t resist taking this little photo to share with you all. Ha! I laugh in the face of humiliation, all for a little entertainment.

Cheers everyone!

I am so excited you’ve joined wedding bee, for the entirely selfish reason that I have a friend trying to plan a July wedding in Maine with an ocean view and she hasn’t found any place yet. I (well really she) eagerly awaits your tips/information on finding Maine Venues — esp if they’re not too far from boston (within 4 hours) since that’s currently where she’s living. . . .

I have family in Eastport and used to spend summers in Maine, so I’m looking forward to hearing more about your planning. Welcome!

BTW, you might need to invest in a more plunging sweater if you want to achieve true “long-sleeved V-neck slut” status. I’m sure Penguin or Hummingbird could give you advice in this area. ;)

Congratulations, Miss Tiramisu! I know how excited you are to be a new Bee! I can take some credit for indoctrinating you into the fine world of desserts so your new name is very appropriate! Such fun to think about a beautiful, oceanside summer Maine wedding as I “experience” my 9th storm day (from teaching school) here in southern Maine! Love you! Mom :)
