More Shoes!

March 4th, 2008 @ 12:16 pm by Ms. Dahlia

Because I just can’t get enough of them. You may recall that I am wearing these Nine West Jojus shoes:

From Endless

The only problem with the shoes, really, is that I don’t think that I can really spend a whole evening dancing in them. I mean, they are wonderful shoes- especially after putting in Foot Petals Killer Kushionz (found on clearance at Bath and Body Works, of all places) - but still- I’ve been concerned about my ability to actually dance in them.

So I decided to get a pair of ballroom dance shoes to wear to the reception. (We are, after all, taking ballroom dancing lessons, so I’ll have plenty of time to break them in.) Check them out:

Jodi dance shoes in Bronze from USA Ballroom Dance Shoes

Not as utterly fabulous as the red shoes, but they are ridiculously comfortable. Like, almost rivaling my beloved Birkenstocks comfortable. Service from USA Dance Shoes was excellent, and when I asked about sizing, I was given a quick response (containing advice I should have heeded initially. Note to self: You have narrow feet. This means that you should get the narrow width from the beginning. That’s a lot of the reason for going with USA Dance Shoes- because they actually carry narrow shoes.) I opted for bronze because I don’t really have any shoes that are that color, and it’s actually quite pretty. (And the choices for narrow were bronze leather, tan satin, and black leather.)

Are you switching shoes for the reception?

I’m doing the exact same thing! Pretty Stuart Weitzman’s for the wedding and slightly-less-pretty ballroom dance shoes for the reception.

I switched shoes. I got married on the beach in pretty sandals. We did the foxtrot for our first dance and in backless shoes, you step right out of them. I got some short heels for the reception (so maybe I was the opposite).
The fact that my dress was not hitting the floor at the reception since it was hemmed for my sandals was actually a great idea. My dress wasn’t black on the bottom like many people’s at the end of the night!

i got married in flat sandals for the ceremony and pictures on the lawn , then switched to ballroom shoes for the reception. We got married on a ranch on Hawaii They look almost exactly like the ones you got!

I also liked not tripping over myself during the reception dancing. i had enough of that during the improv barefoot hula on the lawn…

If you’re looking for cute shoes for dancing, check out http://www.remixvintageshoes.com

They’re gorgeous, very unusual, and their main market is swing dancers, so good for dancing. Most of them have a 2-1/2″ heel and some kind of strap that keeps them on securely.

i too plan on switching, however , since i am a jewelry designer i took old navy flip flops and placed swarovski crystals on the straps of the sandals (similar to the havaianas that sell for $150 a pair)! so mine will be white with sapphire crystals (wedding color’s blue) and i’m making gold sandals with clear crystal for all my bridesmaid to wear at the reception as well…. i can’t get enough DIY in my wedding, so i keep going crazy with new ideas each week! Not to mention I’m a CA girl and I can’t stand the thought of being out of flip flops for very long! =)

Heeey! I’m rocking those same red Jojus2’s too! My cream colored dress has a red sash and these shoes match exactly! I think they’re pretty comfortable given the higher heel.

These will be my reception shoes. I’m having a beach ceremony so I’ll be wearing flip flops then :)

Ms. Dahlia, I am wearing the exact same red shoes! I am IN LOVE with them. I don’t plan on changing shoes for the reception because the dress has been hemmed to the floor, so flats would ruin the dress.
Good luck with your shoe choices!

what’s the difference between the jojus and the jojus2? i need a deep red shoe but in pictures the colors seem slightly different (the jojus2 looks darker)…
