While I pretty much handle most of the wedding planning, I set aside a few wedding-related “tasks” for Mr. Toucan to handle. One of the tasks was to organize the tux rentals for the groomsmen, and last week, Mr. Toucan earned his check! We chose to order our tuxedo rentals from Mr. Tux because of their thousands of locations all over the country. This makes things a lot easier for us since Mr. Toucan has a groomsman across the country in California, and one across the Atlantic in Spain (he frequently travels to the U.S. on business)!
I (as well as, Sister Toucan), of course, accompanied Mr. Toucan to Mr. Tux to take pictures and document this event, and to make sure Mr. T didn’t pick out orange vests and ties (nothing against orange, but our colors are blue/teal and deep magenta).

I am not sure why Mr. Toucan has look on his face,
but it’s great that he wore black pants to work that day!
Our first order of business at our neighborhood Mr. Tux was to look for a vest/tie for Mr. Toucan. Even though we had a tux made for Mr. Toucan in Hong Kong, we didn’t have a vest/tie made because I was completely indecisive on what color it should be. In the end, we chose the Diamond Vest in Cream.

We must be bad customers because I think the shop guy is trying to strangle Mr. T
We asked the shop people to borrow a jacket so we could have an idea of how everything will look together.

Mr. T - isn’t he so cute? He’s holding part of the jacket together
because his tux has two buttons, and this one only has one.
The next order of business was to pick out a tuxedo (we chose this one), and to find a vest color for the groomsmen that matched or at least looked good with the bridesmaid dresses. We chose this vest:

Since we chose a “louder” colored vest for the groomsmen, the shop assistant suggested that we pick a more muted colored vest for the fathers to wear. Since we had chosen the Diamond Vest for both Mr. Toucan and the groomsmen, we decided to keep the same pattern for the dads.

So, finally, after trying on vest after vest after vest, Mr. Toucan survived another wedding-related task!

since we got another check on our to-do list. What hamballs!
Aside from the tuxes, Mr. Toucan’s other tasks included finding/booking the deejay, booking the church, and wedding day transportation. How involved is your groom? What wedding-related tasks is he responsible for?
Mine has the task of DJ (check!), honeymoon (check!), his attire (working on it), ceremony music b/c of his background (working on it) and keeping me sane (the toughest of all). He’s doing great so far! I’m sure he’ll be forced into manual labor of cutting ribbon or some other menial task, but he’s already been told to expect it. He even went to look at flowers with my mom and I (baby, do you like these? “Um, they’re white.”)
