…and into my mailbox.

It’s not done yet but our invite suite is so close to being done! I’m waiting to print our RSVP cards because we have yet to make the decision as to what our meal options will be, but Mr. Penguin’s mom is flying in from Minnesota this weekend to accompany us on our tasting outing!

Here are most of the pieces, finished…

Looks great. What type of carstock did you use? It looks like it has some texture to it.

Yvi - I actually freaked out one day and didnt do any shopping around and just booked a company in El Dorado County (Garrett Transportation) because I’d seen them at the wineries before…I was afraid if I hired a big company, they would get lost in the backroads to the winery (its even hard to find via GPS so I was so nervous). Since I know they go out there all the time, I decided to book them. It was about $1300 for 2 busses that shuttle 100 people. I believe that fee will cover a full day’s rental.

So, I’m unaware of where your wedding is located, but I just booked a local company outside of Sacramento :)

How did you do the rounded edges of the cards? I know it’s expensive to send that to places and have it done or at least that’s what I’ve heard…they look absolutely gorgeous and so fresh. Definitely will set a mood.

msbutton - DO NOT send it out to get it done :)

they have them at every craft store…maybe $4-$10…although I bought a cheaper one (around $5) and its really difficult to use, so if youre gonna do a lot of round edging, splurge on a higher quality one :)

I love the graphic! My FI suddenly decided that he likes the idea of a bird motif, with no input from me…haha

And totally off-topic, but Holiday Inn Express rocks.

I can’t believe how crisp all your text came out! Do you mind me asking what font and size you used?

You ALWAYS give the best eye candy. Visually orgasmic!
hmm? did I just say that?

Miss Penguin says:

Hi Christine!

Yep, the Gocco is one little amazing machine!

The font size for the type on the insert card is 12pt, and on the invite, I believe 13. I wish I had stayed consistent on size :( Of course, no one will really notice the 1pt difference but me.

So, I honestly think you can get super duper tiny on fonts (dare I use 10pt one day? 8? Now I’m just gettin crazy!) so long as you get a super crisp master printout…I’m finding that a good laser printout is ideal (versus a xerox). I’ve noticed since I switched to laser (from xerox) that the edges and detailing comes out a little cleaner…it looks more “professional” than xerox masters.

She is the gocco master! all hail Miss Penguin!!

thanks for the tips!! So far, I’ve only done a little text work for misc. projects and used a xerox copy….which did not come out as well as I would’ve liked.

Would you mind also sharing your font type, oh gracious one? =)

Miss Penguin says:

The Raggedy looking font is Attic Antique (I bought that one off fonts.com i believe)

The other one (plain font) is Bailey Sans ITC, i think it might be one you already have on your computer :) I really like the plain one!

32.
l3r0wnEyedGurl (Christine) says:

Oh…tee hee…one more question?
Do you always use the blue screen for exposures? text and graphics?

33.
l3r0wnEyedGurL (Christine) says:

*runs off to check for font*

I *HEART* your plain font
