About Mrs. Cherry Blossom

As much as I had “problems” to deal with, life goes on. What helped me personally not to crack was to think “it is what it is.” I chose to confide in a handful of good friends because I felt I just had to deal with it and move on. Ultimately, looking at the bigger picture, there are worse problems out there in the world. It’s not life and death. I am still surrounded by the same great people, everyone is healthy and alive.  The bad has to come and go to make room for bigger and better things right? Let’s take that positive and run it with chicas.

Now on to foodgasm pics….

Last week, Mr. CB and I took our families to our venue for the FIRST TIME for our tasting. I was a little nervous…. our parents had never seen the place; I was afraid they wouldn’t be pleased, and we had never tried the food there. Enough said, let’s examine ooh la la c’est food, we be speaking of.

C’est hors d’oeuvres for le cocktail hour! yum yum yum!

From left to right: Crab cakes, Flank Steak on potato crisp, Ahi tuna tartare, Pork empanaditas, Crab Tostidas, Shrimp Toasts, and Smoked Salmon

Now on to Lobster Bisque and Grilled Pear salad with mixed greens and pomegranente vinegarette. (droOL!)

And then after all that…. the MAIN courses …

Grilled Mahi Mahi (will be Halibut), Butternut squash ravioli, Roasted Duck,Chicken, and Filet Mignon (let me tell you, the picture does not do the size “actual day of serving size” justice” WOWSAHS!)

Now if that ain’t drool tastic, I don’t know what is. We were exceptionally pleased. Any of them screaming out to your palettes? We really hope our guests enjoy.

When serving any large party, especially weddings, I’m always worried that the tasting was great and fabulous but come day of, the quality and portion may shrink, anyone else feel the same way?

um, yes, i’ll take one of each please. well, except for the smoked salmon. i’m all about salmon but i don’t know if i’d actually help myself to some during cocktail hour. that makes me think of lox and well, let’s just say i had an unfavorable experience with lox.

Your food sounds and looks so fab, I bet even if it’s smaller it’ll still be great! I worry the same thing about my caterer though.

I just posted on the boards - but I didn’t see read your post! Anyway, I have a question for you - How many hors d’ouerves did you try? and how many main meals did you try? We are trying to decide on our tasting - and we have 13 hors d’ouevres that we think might taste good - but thats A LOT of food.
We also have 5 main dishes to try. I just was wondering what is “normal” for a tasting? Thanks so much!
