These are all CAKES!!!!! OMY-fabulous-cake-gasm-goodness!!!!
That’d be some of the fantabulisticawesomeness that is our cake vendor. 
Thanks to Miss Penguin who referred me to her!!!! When I saw the pictures from Lien’s album, I just about fell out of my chair!
I called and spoke with her that night and set up an appointment to do a cake tasting with her shortly thereafter. Nothing beats meeting with someone who is well prepared, makes the effort to have a clear and organized presentation, and Lien is it! Not to mention the drool fantasticness of all the cakes and fillings she went to the trouble of making for us! I wish I could hug her goodness right now. Me smooches you (and Miss P for the referral!)
We arrived to her home and headed straight into her kitchen for tasting. She set up a nice booth table for us to grub on… I couldn’t wait, especially when I saw her mock up of our wedding cake for our first reception, staring back at us.
Super cute no? Well inside, you find this sHLap happy yumminess…
One half was white cake with whipped cream and strawberries and the other half was a more dense pound cake with white chocolate mousse and strawberries. Mr. CB really likes Strawberry Shortcake so Lien made two different versions for us. Geez, just thinking about it is making me drool and salivate.
Next on to White Cake, Lemon Cake, and Chocolate Cakes with a huge selection of fillings like raspberry, bavarian cream, chocolate raspberry mousse, custard, white chocolate mousse, chocolate mousse, and lemon curd. Lien was nice enough to go through the trouble of such a large selection for us since we were booking her for two days and two different cakes.
“Hmmm, let me taste and ponder it for a sec …”
I want to say Mr. CB approves!
Here is a mock up of our cake for the first reception and the inspiration (we will go with a white fondant with no swirls, extremely simple and clean.) Nothing too big and extravagant but we love it. The second reception cake though, Lien came up with this fabulous idea that we were sold on the second we saw it. Y’all will have to wait for the reveal, sorry!
The inside of our cake will be chocolate with raspberry chocolate mousse… to.die.fooooor! Our second cake will be the pound cake with white chocolate mousse (gives it just the right amount of sweetness but not toothaching!) with fresh strawberries.
Already super happy with our choices and meeting with Lien, she sent us home with ALL the cake for our family to grub on and some additional goodies.

How are her prices? I’m thinking about doing a groom’s cake for our RD (since we’re required to use our venue’s pastry chef for our wedding cake) and these look like some awesome cakes!
Charmeng - you should definitely contact Lien directly. She has great prices. But it’s really hard for me to give you an idea just because everyone’s cakes are different, so it’s up to her to give you an exact price on what you’d like? Beats checking out those that are super well known places that charge an arm and a leg.

oh lord. i just wish i had a wedding to plan so i could book her. or at least a fancy party of some sort. lol. those cakes look awesome! i especially loved the cupcakes that looked like soft serve cones!

She’s my sister-in-law and that red purse cake featured on top is the cake she made me for my birthday. My dad thought it was a real purse and actually grabbed (and tore off) the handle!!
And for all the Star Wars fans out there (or have significant others who are), check out the Storm Trooper groom’s cake she made for my brother. I think it brought tears to his eyes.

Yes, Debbie’s cakes are also amazing, but she has been doing this 20+ years! Lien is just as good and probably charges a fraction of the price.
