The Shoe Doesn’t Fit

March 13th, 2008 @ 5:31 pm by Mrs. Toucan

I found the perfect shoe…

GUESS by Marciano Kierna

but, I can’t buy it. It won’t fit! :(

Ladies, I usually don’t have a problem buying shoes - trust me. But, I’m having serious issues finding my wedding shoes. Usually when I buy shoes, I browse the clearance racks and other discount stores like Marshalls and TJMaxx, and have no problem finding my size. However, when it comes to buying a SPECIFIC shoe, I run into issues. I never can find my size!

I’ve been wanting pink bridal shoes partially because I think I can wear them again, and partially because I think the pink makes them super cute and girly! I don’t particularly think I have extremely small feet, but finding pale pink 3″ plus heels in a size 5.5 has been difficult!

Since I haven’t been able to find the Kierna shoe anywhere in my size, I’ve gone ahead and ordered a couple of runner-ups from Zappos (after all I have 365 days to return them!):

GUESS by Marciano Millicent

The Millicent shoe (4″ heel) meets both the heel and color requirements. While the shoe is cute, it’s not quite as girly as the Kierna shoe which has cute little bows on the toes. The next runner up is definitely more girly:

Jessica Bennett Hood

The Hood shoe has a heel height of 3.5″ and super cute in all of its frilly glory! My only issue with this shoe is that I kind of wanted a peep toe shoe. I know it sounds really dumb, but… I LOVE pedicures, and what’s the point of getting a pedicure if you can’t see your toes!

Can you ladies help me find my girl pink heels? Anyone else have sizing issues? Where do you go to find shoes?

I think finding the right shoe is the toughest part of wedding planning.

P.S. I love guess shoes, but have not been able to wear a single pair… I can’t walk in heels. :(

There are no pale pink peep toes! I looked for months and there were just none to be found. Lots of acid pink but nothing that didn’t scream ‘barbie’ to me.

I like the Millicent peep toes but I find the frilly ones a little heavy looking.

I will let you know if I ever find any!

I too suffer from having small feet! The place I buy dress shoes from is Nordstrom. On Nordstrom.com, they have a better variety of sizes and widths, and if you do a search, you can select the size, width, style, color, etc. There is a BCBGirl’s Amanda pump that is light pink, peep toe, with a 3 1/2″ heel, and a gold ornament on the top that might work for you. There’s also a Kenneth Cole Rich n Post satin sling back in pink, with a bow, but it only has a 3″ heel, but it’s on sale.

Also for those who have smaller than size 5 feet and want trendy, adult looking, not kid looking shoes, I highly suggest Cinderella of Boston (www.cinderellaofboston.com). They have super cute, fashionable shoes in small sizes only (they also have wide widths), so that you don’t have to buy shoes that are and look like a 9 year old’s. They are heaven sent for my sister and I.

TINY FEET LADY! These shoes are insanely adorable. Do they not make any of these shoes in your size or is zappos or bluefly (or whatever) out of them??? Let me know and I will help you look!

I know your pain–my mother is a size 4.5 and it is nearly impossible to find any shoes that fit her.

Have you tried Nordstroms? They have an extensive online shoe section–and they do carry small sizes!

I’m a size 5, so I know your pain! (I’m also 5′7, so apparently I’m like a giant for my foot size).
As far as the peep-toe, I’m not help with suggesting any specific shoes, as they are SO uncomfortable on my feet (it’s like my toe tries to squish OUT of the peep toe or something), but I can chime in regarding the pedicure debate!
I think close toed shoes are so superbly classic and timeless, and that’s what I’m wearing (in blue). I promised myself, however, a fantastic hot pair toe-bearing sandals for the rehearsal dinner, thereby justifying my need for a pedicure.
The best of both worlds!

(Also, if you haven’t searched yet, http://www.endless.com. I am not joking when I say I had 22 pairs shipped to me at once to try and find my wedding shoes.)

Ugh, story of my life! I’m a size 5, even size 5.5 is too big for me, so I can never find shoes. I solved my problem by buying only Jimmy Choo’s as they actually make a size 5 in almost every one of their shoes. A lot of shoe brands (as I’m sure you know) start making at a size 6. It also helps that the store manager at JC knows me and now saves every size 5 shoe for me :)

Does Nordstrom carry that shoe? What I’ve done before is have them find the 5 anywhere in the company and have them sent in.

OR my other option is to just buy the size bigger and use insoles. Dr. Scholls and Foot Petals have saved my life in shoes. I fell in love with a pair of Louboutins and they only had a size 6. I know, I’m crazy, I spent $800 on a pair of shoes that weren’t even my size. BUT with the Dr. Scholls insole and another gel insert, they actually fit ok. Not the best, but hey for pretty shoes, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I feel your pain! I always find shows I love, but there is never a 5.5! I bought a size 5 for my wedding shoes and am getting them stretched because I loved the shoe so much.

Bakersshoes.com might have some. That’s where I got my shoes, and they’re having a sale right now. :]

You could take the last pair to a shoe repair shop and see if they can make them into peep-toes. I actually like them better than your top choice!

Man, I wish you had posted this awhile ago! I searched everywhere for pink bridal shoes (those ones from Guess were a real close runner up). Victoria’s Secret had a wonderful peep toe pink Mary Jane, but they sold out 1 day after I found them. I’ve ended up with this shoe
http://cgi.ebay.com/Pearl-PINK-Round-Toe-Mary-Jane-Platform-Heel-Pump-9_W0QQitemZ300205664862QQihZ020QQcategoryZ63889QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
and I love them. They are cheap though, but that’s fine with me. I also found these just now:

and wish I had seen them sooner:) Doesn’t solve the peep-toe problem though:(

Hello. The first pair (your perfect shoe) looks exactly like Steve Madden’s Smoothe pump. It’s selling at amazon (but not the pink one…so not much help there)http://www.amazon.com/Steve-Madden-Womens-Smoothe-Black/dp/B000IGTBOM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1205460353&sr=1-1
I bought mine at Nordstroms, and I remember they had the pink ones on clearance a few months ago (late 2007). You might want to call Nordstroms customer service and have them locate the shoe in pink and have them ship it to you. Here’s the link to the shoe on the Nordstroms website. It doesn’t show pink asa color option b/c it’s all sold out but they carried it at some point. http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2918115?refsid=182018&refcat=0~2376778~2372808~2372940~2372941&SourceID=1&SlotID=2&origin=related&cookie=0 Hope this helps. :)

I also have size 5.5 feet and yes, I agree, it’s difficult to find shoes in this size! But I always have found Dillards to have a much better selection of sizes than any other store. Good luck!

WOW! Lots of good shopping done above.. The only site I have that appears not to have been scoured produced these — pink silk, peep-toe and available in size 5.5 (not sure how you feel about “bling”, but these also have some small rhinestones on the top):

If you can find a 6 or a 6.5 you can take them to a good shoe store/cobbler and they can add padding/insoles under the main sole to make them fit properly. I have the opposite size problem (a size 10.5, which is rare to find) and I sometimes have to size up and then have them made a bit smaller.

Omg, I totally agree with the posters above who mention endless.com. It is the Best. Shoe. Site. Ever! Can you tell that I love it. It’s just so easy to navigate and sort shoes by various options (unlike that horribly designed zappos). Since I discovered it last fall I haven’t bought shoes at any other website and hardly in stores either!

How about this?

Wow! This has nothing to do with finding small shoe sizes, just finding the Kierna shoe in a size 6.5 (black though) for my daughter, who had her heart set on it. I just couldn’t find it anywhere! & then I found your blog & read through it & find out about endless.com! I was able to order both a size 6.5 and a size 6 for her to try, and then bookmarked the site for future shopping! WONDERFUL!!! THANKS!!!!
