My first round of invitations are done like dinner! My California shower is this Saturday, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to hand deliver a small portion of these bad boys to my friends and family. At $2.32 a pop for postage, every hand delivery counts!
The invitation details that I showed off earlier all got wrapped up in a double faced ivory satin bow. I wanted to finish off the Louis Tiffany stamps I had left over from my Save The Dates, but the stamps were too tall for my envelopes so I had to fold them over:

Doh. I’ll be purchasing smaller stamps for the rest of the invitations.
Okay so if this is all deja vu, that’s because, yes, my invitations look just like my favors, only in a larger proportion. My guests may never want to see another Berry Blue Jelly Belly after they’ve left my wedding. But they make such cute invitation fillers…

I was asking my friend Michelle whether she was going to hand address her invitations or run them through the computer printer. She said that she always felt that a handwritten invitation was always a little more “special” to open (so true). But in the end, I couldn’t bring myself to do it, so instead I hand glyphed the names on the boxes instead (thanks Miss Licorice for the tutorial!). Choosing glyphs takes as much time as handwriting! I hope my guests notice how fancy-schmancy their names look but I bet they wont :). Here’s how they came out…

I printed out their names on text weight paper, rounded the corners and ran them through the Xyron. I used REPOSITIONABLE adhesive rather than permanent, that way you can peel off the outer label as you please.

who knew one could be so fond of a machine that lays down adhesive?
Next, taking inspiration from both Miss Gummibear and Jordan Ferney, I adhered these simple labels to boxes. I like how they turned out very clean!

Before I labeled them, I made sure to number each return card to correspond with the invitee, making sure that if cards are returned without names, I can figure out who exactly was RSVP’ing.

All done, with a whopping $30 saved in postage, ready to be handed out on Saturday!

It’s 1:30 AM and time for some sleep!
those are, hands down, the most gorgeous things i’ve ever seen. a unicorn just strolled by me, that’s how magical these are.
