About Mrs. Peppermint

A Token Of Our Gratitude

March 17th, 2008 @ 6:26 pm by Mrs. Peppermint

One of the fun tasks we had leading up to the wedding, was deciding what to give the members of our wedding party. They truly had been such an important part of the day (not to mention our lives!), that we really wanted to thank them for everything.

Since we were the first of the group to get married, there were no expectations (good) and no precedent (bad). Nonetheless, I think we did a pretty good job of giving everyone a token of our gratitude…

Mr. Peppermint discovered Etsy a few weeks before the wedding and decided to get all his groomsmen cuff links. He scoured Etsy for days until he found ones that suited each guys personality.

Here’s a shot on the big day, showcasing the cuff links:

At the reception, two groomsmen show off their cuff links:

And, Mr. Peppermint also sported some of his own. Here are his ray-guns:

As I started thinking about the gift, I decided I wanted a travel theme. It grew out of the fact that we were having a destination wedding (okay 90 miles isn’t too far, but still not at home) and that all my bridesmaids had been such a part of my life and gone on this ‘journey’ with me. I began accumulating travel theme items, and here’s what I came up with:

Each included a California photo album filled with pics that included them from the shower, a travel candle, a travel notepad (the matchbook looking item), Caswell Massey Elixir of Love Lotion, a necklace for the big day & a luggage tag.

Here are the bags ready to go:

On the day of the wedding, I distributed the gifts to the girls after lunch. They were a big success!

ninanina - they’re actually from a variety of sources. i did a lot of internet searches for luggage tags and tried to pair them with the appropriate friend. if you have a specific one you’re interested in, let me know!

colleen - like the luggage tag, mr. peppermint did a search on etsy for cufflinks (a lot came up, but these were his faves!). is there one in particular you’re interested in? i could ask him which seller he used…

All of my bridesmaids will be traveling to our wedding, to Seattle a place that they have only been one time before, and so I love the idea of getting them travel themed gifts. I hope it helps them remember the wedding and how fun it was. Or how fun I hope it is.
