Bye Bye Birdies!

March 17th, 2008 @ 3:45 pm by Mrs. Donut

Yesterday I took my cranes to the post office and shipped them to Mama and Papa Donut.

All 685 of them piled on the bed for The Counting.

Snug in their box.

Ready to go. (Almost.)

Sayonara, my babies. I will see you in a few weeks.

I live in Japan and am marrying my Japanese fiance next May (2009) in my hometown Brisbane, Australia! But we have decided that we would like to have a cherry blossom theme…..with some other Japanese influences too! I was thinking I would also fold cranes!!!

They could be included as part of the favors perhaps? That is what I am thinking…..I am not sure I will fold 1001 because that tends to be done here if you are sick or somebody you know is sick and you need a wish granted. When I visited Hiroshima I bought the story of Sadako in Japanese and it is a little different to the English version I had read….I am going to research more into this!

Do you know what you will use them as??? They are beautiful!!!!
