Everything Is Under Control

March 17th, 2008 @ 2:16 pm by Mrs. Flamingo

After my panic attack about the whole bridesmaid dress issue, everything worked out fine. Phew!!! I was really stressing that whole weekend before our dress shopping day.

We started off by going to eat breakfast together as a family. This included my sisters (all three of them) and my stepmother. My MOH (cousin) wasn’t able to make it, but that wasn’t really an issue, since she is a size 0 and everything seems to look good on her.  Afterwards we arrived at Bridalane (the same place where I bought my wedding dress) to model away.

Here are some dresses my sisters tried on - (that we didn’t choose):

Green tea

Simple and cute but not my favorite

The Flamingo dressWell the color is very flamingo-ish

The Gone with the Wind styleWatch out if it’s windy - shes bound to fly away

The Gothic Cinderella We loved this dress but thought it might compete
with my own dress so we abandoned the idea.

Then, after trying on practically everything available, the sales guy that was with us suggested a particular dress. Looking at it on the hanger I thought “No way! This looks horrible!” but we had nothing to lose and my sister tried it on. She came out and I was impressed. It was so elegant and glamorous, we had to go with it@ Everyone agreed and so we purchased the dresses. Though they were a good 225$ each, it was basically the price we had to pay because it was so last minute.

Alright here’s the final choice:

Front (obviously)

Bottom (we will add a layer of the stone color found in my sash )

Back (it has a mini-train)

Hopefully the dresses will come in before the June 1st mark. Otherwise that will be another stress I really don’t need to have. So what do you think? Is it a good choice ? (please note, even if you say no - its too late. lol)

Bravo Flamingo! What a beautiful dress…one I would pick out to wear not just as a bridesmaid! I love it, and I hope your girls do too! Is that the color they will be as well?

Yes - Its the color of the dress exactly. Sorry I forgot to include that detail in my post.
Chocolate brown and taupe. My MOH will be chocolate brown and champagne (to be different from the bridesmaids)

Sooo gorgeous!!!! I love how clean and simple it is— like Pengy said, it’s very Calvin Klein. Your bridesmaids are lucky girls!

Im really glad you like it all… especially that it looks even better in person. My girls are gonna be so pretty!!!
