Happy St. Partick’s Day!

March 17th, 2008 @ 1:08 pm by Mrs. Lovebug

Mr. LB and I have declared today the unofficial kickoff to our haunted Ireland honeymoon. We’re going to wear green and drink Guinness every day from now until our departure. And the Cranberries are going to release a new album and Jonathan Rhys Myers is going to give me private soccer lessons…

Back in the real world, we have genuine cause to celebrate extra hard tonight. We’ve booked a full 57.83% (more or less) of the honeymoon! This is Mr. Lovebug’s department, and I don’t know too many details, but he’s been sending me links of our “hotel” stays as he books them.

Here’s a sneak peek, totally out of order, of some places we’re staying:

Mr. Lovebug has been staying up to suspiciously odd hours lately; I recently discovered that, no, he’s not having a cyber affair with HotLegz69…he’s been calling these hotels to request their most haunted room. He even got in touch with Barry from Ghost Hunters International, who told us what touristy spots to avoid (and who enigmatically signed his email “Baz”).

Many thanks also to those of you who’ve given me advice about where to go (as well as shared your own ghost stories!).

Is anyone else finding that they’re so preoccupied with the wedding that they forget to enjoy the honeymoon anticipation? What’s that all about?

That’s so funny, I’ve had basically no time to think about our “mini-moon” because I’ve been so consumed with wedding details. Other than actually getting married, the honeymoon’s the best part!

Wow… those are stunning chateau-esque places. Im dreading the whole honeymoon. This weekend I told Mr.F that I would love to visit a friend in Virginia… doesnt he tell me, why dont we go there for our honeymoon. Ya like a 15 hour road trip is my vision of a romantic honeymoon ;)

Ooooh! - we did an Irish honeymoon, too - though we mostly did B&Bs - and we stayed at the Ashford Castle one night! It’s opulent!!

And it’s gotta be haunted.

Your haunted Irish honeymoon has gotten me hooked on making our Scottish honeymoon at least partially haunted! I’m quite excited!

This is really turning into the most amazing honeymoon ever. I love the themed honeymoon. And you are staying in castles. It would be romantic if it wasn’t so scary :)

Ten million trillian gazillion points Mr. Lovebug! Well done! Clontarf Castle is amazing :D! The rest look jaw dropping, heart stopping, incredible! He’s really only a little more than half way done?! Girlie, that’s what they call jackpot… erm in your case, pot of gold!

And yes, so often I completely forget to get excited about the honeymoon… or even remember there IS a honeymoon! Then it all comes flooding back to me and I get giddy!

So giddy that I think I’ll go jump on the bed or shout from the balcony now that I’m just thinking about it!
