When we first started planning our wedding (almost four years ago!), I’d never even heard of a save the date before.  Being a total newbie to the wedding planning world, I thought they were the coolest, smartest thing ever.

Half our guests were travelling from out of town, so we sent out the ubiquitous save the date magnets.  Nowadays, save the dates have become almost as commonplace as invitations, and couples have become so creative and crafty!
